About us

Kadlec is an integrated regional health care system with a rich history of providing the highest quality care. Kadlec opened its doors in 1944 as a hospital to care for the Hanford area workers and their families and is now the second largest employer in the Tri-Cities area providing health care to a half million people throughout Southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon. As a not-for-profit, private corporation governed by local volunteer trustees, decisions at Kadlec are made with its community's best interest in mind. Kadlec is a member of the Planetree network of hospitals and since 2013 has maintained an A Grade in hospital safety by The Leapfrog Group. It is also the recipient of the Tri-City Herald’s People’s Choice awards for Best Hospital and Best Company to Work For. In addition to the Regional Medical Center, Kadlec Clinic has grown to 26 sites located in six communities and offers care in over 20 specialties. Kadlec is affiliated with the not-for-profit health system Providence St. Joseph Health.

In 2004, Sandi joined Kadlec and was part of the team that opened our transfer center. "I have had the privilege of collaborating with many providers, specialists, nurses and ancillary staff, each working hard behind the scenes to make admissions and transfers smooth for our patients. This amazing team has become a second family to me. I enjoy facilitating these admissions, like a sudoku puzzle, fitting patients where they will get the best available care close to home." said Sandi. Sandi, registered nurse, still works in our transfer center as a Patient Placement Coordinator. This week, she is celebrating 20 years of service to Kadlec. Thank you and congratulations Sandi! 🎉 #TeamKadlec #YearsofService #celebration #ThankYou

Meet Jessica Almaguer, ARNP. Jessica is a Nurse Practitioner at Kadlec Clinic West Kennewick Primary Care. This week she is celebrating 20 years of service. We asked Jessica what she enjoys most about working at Kadlec. She said: "The thing that I enjoy most about working at Kadlec is developing relationships. I love going to work every day and making a difference in the lives of other people, listening to their stories, meeting them where they are, and encouraging and loving them there. Getting to represent Kadlec as a healthcare provider and getting to intermix knowledge, compassion, and care for each and every patient I see is an absolute privilege." Please join us in congratulating her! 🎉 #TeamKadlec #YearsofService #celebration #ThankYou

If you have visited the Kadlec gift shop, then you have probably met Vivian Mckinlay. Vivian is the supervisor and buyer for the Kadlec Auxiliary Gift Shop and the Kadlec Healthplex Gift Shop. What she enjoys most about her job is working with our volunteers and caregivers. "I come to work each day knowing we can make a difference here at Kadlec.", said Vivian. Proceeds from the Kadlec gift shops are donated to the Kadlec Foundation. Over the past 15 years, $2.4 million dollars has been donated from gift shops sales. In August, Vivian celebrated 20 years of service. Congratulations and thank you, Vivian! 🎉 #TeamKadlec #YearsofService #celebration #ThankYou

September is Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Awareness Month. At Kadlec, we celebrate the birth of every baby, recognizing that each arrival is a unique and special experience for families. Sometimes, tiny new members of our community require a little extra help to begin their journeys. We're proud to provide that critical support through the area's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our NICU is equipped to treat high-risk babies needing specialized attention, including premature infants starting from 24 gestational weeks, as well as full-term babies who need additional care. We are grateful for our team of NICU caregivers who provide compassionate, comprehensive care to our tiniest patients. Thank you. ❤️ #NICUAwarenessMonth
