Each session digs into emerging tech trends and addresses the most taxing AI-related challenges that our clients face. This month, experts Ayman Salama, Senior Partner at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Dr. Scott Nowson, Principal at Kearney, led a lively debate on the capabilities and limitations of large language models (LLMs). 👉 Swipe through the arguments and decide for yourself—are LLMs capable of real logic, or are they just following patterns? Medical research shapes the treatments we all rely on, but do you think it truly considers the differences between men and women? Until 1993, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) excluded women from clinical trials, meaning decades of medical progress focused almost entirely on the male body—based on the flawed assumption that what works for one sex would work for another. Kearney [w]Health’s research on women’s health found that only 20% of pain medication is tested on women or female mice. Men and women experience health issues, treatments, and symptoms differently. We have partnered with the World Economic Forum to accelerate action on women’s health through better research, better data, and better outcomes #ForALLWomenAndGirls. We can’t close the health gap if we don’t study women properly. Kearney was proud to sponsor Junior Achievement of Northern California’s S.H.E. Leads STEM Summit at Google. In celebration of International Women's Day, 100 young women from across the Bay Area came together to hear firsthand experiences from women in STEM, gaining insights into confidence, allyship, and problem-solving. At the event, Kearney Associate Haritha Gorthi took part in the speed-networking sessions, mentoring students and sharing career advice, while Partner Betty Pio delivered a closing keynote on her journey in STEM. It was an honor to engage with the next generation of STEM leaders and contribute to conversations that will help shape their future careers.

As we near the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action—one of the most comprehensive global frameworks for advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment—it’s an important moment to reflect on our progress and recognize the work that remains, particularly in women’s healthcare and access to timely screenings and accurate diagnostics. In a recent article with the World Economic Forum, Kearney’s Paula Bellostas Muguerza and Anna B., along with Roche’s Sofiat Makanjuola-Akinola, highlight the urgent need to prioritize investment in accessible, high-quality diagnostics to advance global gender and health equity, and how tools like the [w]Health Index can assist organizations in evaluating their efforts, identifying gaps, and taking concrete steps toward closing the gender health gap: https://bit.ly/3RgCjDA
