Training Up Our Team: Elevating Expertise in Parkinson’s Care At Key Rehab, we’re committed to providing the highest quality care for our residents, which is why we recently completed a specialized training series, Parkinson’s Impact on the Elderly, led by our very own Kaitlin, OTR and clinical leader. Through this 2-part CEU series, our staff enhanced their skills to offer expert communication and treatment for individuals living with Parkinson’s and similar diagnoses. Successful participants completed the skills check-off, gaining valuable certifications to continue delivering the exceptional care our patients deserve. Meet Margaret, a determined woman who came to New Aldaya after a tough hospital stay following a fall that left her with rib fractures and limited mobility. When she first started therapy with us, she needed the assistance of two people just to transfer and could only walk a few feet with her walker. Despite the challenges—Margaret made steady progress. Each week, she grew stronger, improved her balance, and increased her endurance. After just 5 weeks of dedicated therapy, Margaret was able to safely return home independently, walking unlimited distances with her walker and completing her daily tasks on her own! Margaret’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact physical therapy can have on reclaiming independence. Happy National Physical Therapy Month!
