There’s a new song on the streets of Mzansi, featuring iconic SA originals Khuli Chana, Blxckie and 25K. The catchy tune is tagged to the new KFC Streetwise campaign – Original Feeds Original. It’s not every day that a brand like KFC gets to celebrate 25 years of a legacy brand, and this campaign puts KFC Streetwise in the spotlight as a sub-brand that has been a firm favourite of South Africa’s youth for a quarter of a century. Launching today, the campaign includes: • The Originals Anthem – A brand-new track by Khuli Chana, Blxckie, and 25K, available on Spotify and YouTube. • An epic TV commercial from director Sam Coleman, featuring our Original Tastemakers - our icons of originality including Kind Kid toymaker Sanele Qwabe, “Nail Pimp” Nailed Ntswembu, the Island Gals skateboarders, designer Ruberto Scholtz, visual director Rowan Sakarombe, the Botswana Metalheads, and custom car artist Ofentse Mphatsoe • A packaging collaboration between KFC Streetwise and Cultural creator Sindiso Nyoni, an illustrator who has built a stellar career after being inspired by an “original” – his high school art teacher, a retired graphic designer.
