Yes, every day *should* be Earth Day. And at KLA, it is. As a company committed to working with local governments on climate action, sustainability, and resiliency efforts, we're using today to highlight our core values and vision statement. About us
KLA is a small, woman-owned, Boston-based benefit corporation that partners with local governments across the country to build the sustainable, resilient communities they envision. We do this by delivering an innovative approach and affordable tools and services to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and communicate climate and sustainability goals and programs. From complete climate action planning processes to greenhouse gas inventories, comprehensive communications support and more, KLA has helped place over a dozen local governments, large and small – from Concord, MA, to Clark County, NV -- on an actionable path toward a sustainable future. Driven by a passion for the environment and equitable engagement, we do this by centering our plans at the community level, from start to finish.

Sharing our clients' successful strategies at conferences together is one of the more rewarding perks of this job. Thanks to Keith Baldinger and Louise O'Neill with Town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts for joining KLA's own Tacy Lambiase at #NEAPWA. The session "You're Already Acting on Climate Change -- You Just Don't Know It" was a hit with a great audience!
Great presentation this morning at the New England APWA fall conference from Keith Baldinger and team on how Shrewsbury public works professionals are acting on climate change. Lots of useful information and strategies on how we can implement actionable solutions to the ongoing issues we face with flooding, winter storms, hurricanes, etc…. And perhaps the biggest takeaway for me was the discussion on how to gain buy in from staff and involving them in the process.

Riding the high of seeing our partners in City of Columbia, Missouri featured for their "bold climate action" in Time magazine. Federal funding has been a game changer for communities that were already moving in the right direction but needed a boost to move from plans and visions to action. Well done Barbara Buffaloe! Please give a hearty (and maybe a tad belated) welcome to these relatively new additions to the KLA Team: Hannah Arledge is our Climate Action Planner, Margot Paolucci our Sustainability Coordinator and Carlyn Bacci our Community Engagement and Communications Specialist. One of them is a triathlete, one a lover of New England farms and one can tell you about a 30-mile canoe trip. Guesses? (Answers: https://lnkd.in/exsDEH7z)

We heard the refrain "It's time to act" a lot during Climate Week recently, a sentiment promptly underscored by the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and Milton now taking aim at Florida. With our local government partners, we've long focused on finding the most immediate and effective path to emissions reductions and resilience. Our CEO Kim Lundgren and Director of Climate Analysis Mike Steinhoff sat down for another "Talking Action" video chat about this very timely topic: Plan or no plan, how do we motivate people to take action? ▶️ #ClimateWeekNYC #climatechange #HurricaneMilton #localclimateaction #climateactionplan #talkingaction https://hubs.ly/Q02Sx-RJ0

When you stick with a client from the climate action planning process through to implementation, it's rewarding to see it take off. The Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability (DES) All-In Regional Climate Collaborative is such a cool example of using a plan as an on-ramp to swift, impactful action on climate change. And this video (bravo, David Pichette and Mainstage.pro) shows how the #SouthernNevada region is leveling up together. #AllInClarkCounty
This might feel a bit like a #humblebrag, but the All-In Regional Climate Collaborative is truly awesome. See for yourself in this new video that captures how Southern Nevada is working together to ensure the social, environmental and economic resilience of our entire region. The Collaborative is a way for Clark County, City of Boulder City, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, City of Mesquite, Nevada, City of North Las Vegas, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and Southern Nevada Water Authority to be most efficient and effective as we address the shared impacts of climate change. It's how we're going from plan to action ▶️ 📽️ https://hubs.ly/Q02R-BVw0 #AllInClarkCounty #SouthernNevada #regionalcollaboration #regionalclimateaction #ClarkCountyNV #LasVegas

It's football season, so we love a good scoreboard infographic. 🏈 Of course this one from City of Sunnyvale is a current fave b/c we worked on it with them as part of their KLA Community Dashboard. We took their GHG inventory and analyzed it to determine the best way to tell a compelling story about the trends in their climate emissions. The Scoreboard is part of their Climate Action Playbook and Game Plan which includes 6 key strategies for bold climate action, 19 Plays and 66 Next Moves for specific action -- keeping the sports theme going through the 4th quarter! https://hubs.ly/Q02RHc_X0 #SunnyvaleCA #Dashboard #climatechange #localclimateaction #football

Good to be back with our partners in Henderson, Nevada, last week. We've worked with their incredible team on the H2One water conservation campaign and the All-In Clark County Regional Climate Collaborative, and now we get to kick off their very own climate action planning process. Climate and resilience leadership in this region knows no bounds! Here's the video we did with Henderson (shout out to Mainstage.pro): https://lnkd.in/exTSUraX #HendersonNV #AllInClarkCounty #climateaction

Climate change doesn't take a break on weekends. Nor does it stop at city and county borders. Which is why Kim Lundgren was up early on Sunday with our partners Jodi Bechtel with Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability (DES) and Lisa Corrado, AICP with the City of Henderson to talk regional solutions and #AllInClarkCounty at #ICMA2024.
Excited to have kicked off #ICMA2024 in #Pittsburgh this weekend with Jodi Bechtel and Lisa Corrado, AICP talking about our work with the #AllIn Regional Climate Collaborative. We've got 4 reasons for #ICMA2024 participants to grab an early coffee and get over to the "So Much More than the Strip: Southern Nevada Goes All-In on Interlocal Climate Collaboration" session Sunday morning (9:15 room 303-305). Those reasons are: Marci Henson, Jodi Bechtel, Lisa Corrado and Kim Lundgren. 🔥Powerhouse panel IMHO. We promise a high-energy panel that will keep you awake with plenty of laughter and learning. We'll share insights from our year+ with the All-In Clark County Regional Climate Collaborative. You snooze you lose! https://hubs.ly/Q02QBPH10
