  • Finding time for physical activity can be tricky, but we've got some great options right here at UK King’s Daughters! Why not take a stroll through Central Park on your break, hit the trail at the Pavilion, or get those steps in on the indoor walking path? Walking is a game-changer—it helps you stay fit, keeps your heart healthy, and boosts your mood.

  • Keisha Fox, a registered nurse at UK King's Daughters, emphasizes the significance of patient experience and its personal meaning to her. Her compassion is evident as she describes treating each patient. She highlights the importance of patient surveys and the crucial role feedback plays for her and the team. We thank Keisha for providing exceptional care and enhancing the patient experience at UK King's Daughters.

  • Our Health Foundation's Team Emergency & Crisis Fund recently received a $500 donation, thanks to the work of two UK King's Daughters team members. Outside of his regular duties, Director of Community Engagement Scott Hill, CPP, CHPA, volunteers and serves on the board of The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Foundation. Hill and Mindy Burch, PhD, associate professor at Trevecca Nazarene University, recently published a nationwide study, "The Impact of Body-Worn Cameras in Hospitals: An In-Depth Study." When Hill and Burch developed the survey for healthcare security specialists, they needed someone to create and guide the survey to completion. Director of Integrated Communications Tom Dearing, APR, works down the hall from Hill and volunteered to help. He created and managed the survey "over a couple Saturdays" in late 2023 and early 2024. The IAHSS had set aside funds to have the survey completed, and Hill and Dearing requested the funds be donated to the Team Emergency & Crisis Fund. "This fund has been vital for many of our fellow team members," Dearing said. "The Health Foundation has been growing in serving our community, and our team. Scott and I agreed this was a great way to give back to King's Daughters." Hill is scheduled to present his findings from the study in a webinar for the IAHSS. There are already more than 200 hospital security professionals signed up to attend from across the world. In September, Hill will share the findings of the study at the Workplace Violence and Safety Forum at Houston Medical Center. The study's results can be found at https://lnkd.in/ghs_2CnD.
