We were honored to speak with up-and-coming counselors and therapists at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Our Business Development Director, Monica Garcia-Guinessey, presented to students in a hybrid setting about our hospital and the services we provide. Reanna DeGeorge, Professor, recorded the event to allow students who were unable to attend to learn about our valuable services as well.

As we celebrate Case Management Week, we are proud to feature our own Lead Case Manager, Josh Logan. We wanted to let Josh describe what working in case management means to him in his own words. "Being a Case Manager means being a dedicated advocate and guide for individuals facing various challenges. In the acute psychiatric setting, we have a unique opportunity to truly listen to the patients' needs, understand their unique situations, and work collaboratively with a team of other professionals to find solutions that improve their quality of life. For me personally, it represents a commitment to empowering others, whether that's connecting them to critical resources, providing emotional support, or helping them set and achieve their personal goals." "It's not just about managing a caseload, it's about building relationships based on trust, respect, and empathy. The mental health field in Texas can be extremely difficult to navigate on your own, and identifying resources can be even more difficult. Case Managers are there to bridge the gap and be that steady presence in patients' and families' lives that they can turn to for support when they are managing their own mental health needs in this difficult system."

We were proud to support the Network of Behavioral Healthcare Providers' Annual Luncheon at the beautiful Houston Botanic Gardens. There were numerous organizations with missions related to mental health support, with over 150 attendees in total. Our staff enjoyed the opportunity to hear representative Ann Johnson speak passionately about her experience as a public defender and how that motivated her to become a state representative. We are always here to support our most vulnerable community members. If you or someone you know needs a no-cost assessment, please contact our intake department at 281-404-1001. We are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Since 1990, Americans have celebrated the first full week of October as Mental Illness Awareness Week. Let's come together to raise awareness, break the stigma, and support those living with mental illness. You are not alone. If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline provides free 24/7 connection to confidential support from trained professionals. There is hope. Just call or text 988, or start a chat at 988lifeline.org. #MIAW24

We offer a variety of treatment options for children, teens, and adults through our Branches Kingwood outpatient services. These programs are designed to address the psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency issues in individuals who are stable enough to live at home during treatment. Just like our inpatient programs, our IOP and PHP outpatient programs equip patients with the skills they need to improve mental health conditions back in their homes and communities.
