Our mission is to improve early detection for breast cancer worldwide through creative and empowering education.
Our vision is a world where patients feel empowered with knowledge and confidence to report breast changes and participate when screening is available. These two actions will improve breast health and reduce deaths from the disease.
As an Associated Member of the United Nations Department of Global Communications, we will be a change-agent for this goal with breast cancer. We are aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 to “Reduce Deaths from noncommunicable diseases (like breast cancer) by one-third by 2030.”
We will “change the picture of breast cancer for good” through an innovative approach to breast health education around the globe.
Design is at the core of our organization. Not only in our appearance but our approach in a thoughtful human-centered way. We use design in a way that communicates to women and men, regardless of their ethnicity, age, or literacy level. We cross cultural understandings and comfort levels by using visual metaphor and universal design to educate the public on symptoms, self-exams, screenings, and testing. We adjust to meet local conditions and access to medical services. Our practices and educational tools are evidence-based.

📢 LONG POST ALERT 📢
During the past 4 years I’ve kept my eyes open for anything breast health-related, so when Know Your Lemons Foundation (KYL) announced a new partnership with YWCA of Albania this June, I had to check it out.
KYL was offering a Breast Health Educator training, so I jumped at the chance. By September, I’d earned my certification, officially becoming their first Certified Global Breast Health Educator (AKA Lemonista) in Albania. But this certification is about so much more than a title—it’s about what I can now do with it. Educate people!
To mark #BreastCancerAwareness Month, last Saturday I teamed up with Girl Gone International (GGI) Tirana to host a breast health education event. GGI is an amazing community of women from around the world, providing connection, support and empowerment to women living far from home. The Albanian healthcare landscape can oftentimes be challenging to navigate even for locals, so I picked this audience hoping I can help these women access important health information while they’re living here. (And boy, it felt like being in a mini #localization#community!)
With my background in teaching, I knew I wanted to make the class as interactive, fun and engaging as possible. So, we organized a themed “Pink Afternoon Tea” event to talk about breast health, breast cancer symptoms and risk factors, (how to perform) self-exams and screening options. We shared personal experiences and left with a renewed commitment to care for our “lemons” 🍋🍋.
This event confirmed how little we’re taught about breast health (in schools, at home, with friends) and how little we talk about it. Breasts are often a taboo subject, leading many women to keep symptoms to themselves.
I am aware that changing this narrative will take time, but every conversation counts in breaking down barriers. Together we can normalize discussions about breast health and empower women to make informed decisions about their health.
In March, I launched the "local act, global impact" campaign to highlight the power of small, community-driven efforts to make a meaningful difference on a larger scale. It took me a while to organize my own local act, but here it is! This event was a beautiful example of how a simple gathering can inspire change, creating a ripple effect beyond our immediate circle.
Thank you to GGI Tirana for embracing this idea, to Antigua Coffee Shop (a woman-owned business) for donating their space, and to everyone who attended, wearing pink and being an active part of the conversation.
I am sharing this post and video in the hope that it will inspire others to take action within their own communities.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Let’s create change! 💗🎀

Know Your Fruits! - CHALLENGE 🍎 🍊 🍋
Did my picture catch your attention? And do you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide? It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Approximately 99% of breast cancers occur in women and 0.5–1% of breast cancers occur in men. When was your last screening?
Jointly with my colleagues we believe in the power of awareness. This October, we have come together to spread an important message about self-examination and early detection of breast cancer.
Know Your Fruits! is a project implemented as part of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The aim of the campaign is to remind everyone how important regular preventive breast examinations are, as well as to show solidarity with people fighting against cancer.
You are invited to the challenge! Join the #KnowYourFruits campaign and motivate women to undergo preventive breast examinations in October.
The rules are simple:
1. Take a colorful photo of yourself with fruit.
2. Post the picture adding a description of the challenge.
3. Nominate more people.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and at WeWrite, we believe that every message matters, especially when it comes to important causes.
As a translation, copywriting, and content agency, we work to ensure that health campaigns—whether raising awareness for breast cancer, prostate cancer, or mental health—resonate across cultures and languages. 🌍💬
What better example than the #knowyourlemons campaign by Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont who used her graphic design background to create a clear, impactful and international message to educate on how to detect early signs of breast cancer. 🍋
One quote by Corrine specifically resonated with us: "In order for our campaign to be global, it has to be able to adapt to local circumstances."
From adapting marketing content to fit local sensibilities to ensuring your health awareness campaigns are clear, empathetic, and powerful in every market, we’re here to help you break through communication barriers.
If you’re running a global awareness campaign this season, let’s make sure your message reaches every corner of the world. 💪✨
And remember to check yourself and encourage people around you to get regular breast exams to detect any signs of cancer in time.
