The Port of Seattle Business Accelerator Mentorship Program is now seeking applications for the 2024 Fall cohort! We had the privilege of graduating from this amazing business development program last fall. It's an incredible program designed for diverse small businesses aiming to scale their government contract work and position themselves with opportunities at the Port. In partnership with Business Impact NW, the program encourages women- and minority-owned small businesses in key industries like construction, architecture, and engineering. Welcome to the world Social Tea! Meet Sam Cho you may have heard of him! Sam is a politician, businessman , serial entrepreneur and part-time hooper on the court! He was the youngest and first person of color to chair the Port of Seattle Commission since its founding. During the pandemic, he and his family decided to open a cafe in honor and remembrance of his late-father. For the last two years, we’ve helped his family bring their vision to life along with our many partners and collaborators. This is no ordinary boba cafe. Sam is trying to spark civic engagement by allowing patrons to vote/choose where a portion of their spending goes. Each period throughout the year, he will feature a rotation of 3 charities/nonprofits that you will get to choose where the proceeds will be directed to. It’s a bold and creative way to rethink and ignite how we show up in the world, and promote more civic participation and conscious spending. We’re proud to help clients like Sam breathe life into new ideas and new ways of thinking through architecture and design, and help craft a story that reflects their values in an authentic way. Congratulations to Sam & family and the whole Social Tea team!
