DEI is one of the few fields that don’t have professional ethics and expectations around citing sources! This has a lot to do with the fact that the info comes from community- individuals, non-profits, etc who work to decrease barriers to accessing their data. 👏🏽WE 👏🏽 MUST 👏🏽 CHANGE 👏🏽 THIS 👏🏽 Not in a white supremacy mindset way, in which we only believe the written word. But by lifting up the voices of people who likely have a history of having their ideas 💡 stolen or dismissed (or worse… dismissed and then stolen). We validate and honor their contribution to the world 🌍 , opening up more opportunities for their voices to be elevated. Question: what do we do when something’s been used so much that we don’t know who the original creator was?
