On this Indigenous People's Day, we recognize the responsibility as an organization that owns land in Sonoma County to repair our relationship with the original people of this land, and to respect, make space, and honor the knowledge, culture, and deep connection to the natural world of Indigenous peoples. Join us in this process by connecting and uplifting the organizations and resources listed below, which is a first step, and just the first step on this journey, to start on a course of reparative study and action: California Indian Museum and Cultural Center, Redbud Resource Group, Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, YA-KA-AMA INDIAN EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT.

Please help us welcome Gilberto Ramirez to LandPaths as our new Bilingual Outings Field Specialist! In this position, Gilberto joins the New Audiences team (Danny, Nancy, and Jonathan) and will lead engaging outings to LandPaths' preserves and partner properties in both English and Spanish, plus many more activities! He is a migrant, first generation, Chicanx scholar, community organizer, activist, and ally to many. As far as Gilberto can remember he has been very curious about, well, everything. He has always felt the need to explore nature, new places, but more importantly learn about different people, their cultures, customs, struggles and their resiliency. Which, in part, is why he became so invested in LandPaths. Some of his hobbies include hiking, kayaking, photography and writing poetry. Please give Gilberto a warm welcome when you see him in the field!

Please join us in celebrating Jessica Holloway's 12th anniversary at LandPaths! In her 12 years at the organization, Jessica's ability to foster a love of the land in Sonoma County, especially amongst youth, is incomparable. She's good at so many things - it's hard to begin to list them all, though we have to start with her passion and knowledge of the world of fungi. And, TBH, if we took a vote at LandPaths of the fellow staffer we'd most want to get lost in the forest with, she'd be the number one pick because her deep connection and relationship with the land would keep us alive! From Owl Camp to Young Stewards to the Safety Committee, Jessica brings a spirit of rigorous kindness and inquiry to every program she works with at the organization. Thank you, Jess!!
