Celebrating Our Compassionate Caregivers! At Las Palmas Medical Center, we're honored to recognize the extraordinary dedication of our nurses and nurse support colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their care. This month, we celebrate our DAISY and BEE Award recipients—true heroes who embody compassion and commitment to our patients' recovery journeys. Creating Happiness, One Pledge at a Time! We are so proud of our Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare colleagues who answered phones and took pledges during the 31st Annual Happiness Happens Here Telethon in support of the Humane Society of El Paso (HSEP). Thanks to the incredible generosity of the El Paso community, over $125,000 was raised to help fund essential services and care for homeless pets. As a donation-run shelter, these funds are truly transformative for the HSEP, and the impact was immediate—34 dogs and cats found their forever homes in the days following the telethon! Finding forever homes for pets is why #WeShowUp and volunteer: to see these beautiful animals given a second chance at happiness. One More First and Only at Las Palmas Medical Center! We are excited to announce that we are the first and only hospital in El Paso to use the newly FDA-approved pulsed field ablation (PFA) system. This innovative technology treats patients with paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation, offering a safer and more precise method for correcting irregular heart rhythms. The PFA system uses short-duration, high-energy electrical pulses to target the cardiac tissue, avoiding the excess heat or cold used in previous methods. This advancement reduces the risk of damage to surrounding tissue and improves patient outcomes. We are excited to be a center of excellence that consistently brings new technology to the borderland to ensure our patients do not have to travel outside our community for life-saving care. A Day of Beauty and Resilience: Power of Pink Event! We are thrilled to highlight the heartwarming collaboration at the annual Power of Pink event hosted by the cosmetology department at El Paso Community College (EPCC). Our Infusion Clinic colleagues joined forces with other local healthcare providers to bring makeovers and professional photos to roughly 60 Borderland residents who have triumphed over cancer. EPCC cosmetology students provided hair styling, makeup sessions, and manicures, creating a day filled with beauty, confidence, and smiles. We are incredibly proud of our colleagues for their dedication and compassion in making this event a memorable and empowering experience for our local cancer survivors.
