We are a public relations firm specializing in corporate and consumer campaigns for clients across the Latin American region. Our fundamental belief: in a world of big data and automation, the ability to connect with people, to inform and persuade them of a particular point of view through relationships, evidence and discussion is more important to businesses than ever. Our expertise is based on earned influence – the ability to consistently convey a message on behalf of our clients to generate a response. The latter may involve a belief, a call to action, a new consideration or simply increased awareness. Our clients’ audiences range from consumers and employees, to business partners and local regulators. We are passionate about and absolutely committed to the region, whose societies and cultures are so diverse and whose economy is growing but which, from a PR agency perspective, remains perennially under-served. From the bustle of Mexico City to the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro, from the peace dividend in Colombia, to Chile’s start-up mentality, we believe that Latin America should represent more than a ‘line item’ next to ‘out of pockets’ on the global PR plan! Our experience from multiple developed and emerging markets brings an operating model that can exploit all the nuances of each market, in a systematic, cost-effective, consistent manner for brands wherever they are based. We don’t simply assume that our audiences’– whether they be consumers, employees, investors, business partners or regulators – are necessarily interested or aware of our clients’ propositions. The fundamental currency for this interest is ‘relevance’, we need to demonstrate the meaning and purpose of our clients’ particular message to their audiences’ lives. We do this by listening to them and understanding their interests, concerns and priorities; our task is then to connect our clients’ brands to the same. This is the essence of the ‘intersect’.

What can Latin American countries and companies learn from Uruguay's rise as a business hub? As a leader of a truly Latin American PR agency, with specialists all over the continent, I think it’s wonderful not only to celebrate the diversity of our respective countries and what they have to offer, but also to learn from one another. That’s why I wanted to reflect on a recent article by #LatAmInvestor on how Uruguay is becoming the business hub of the Southern Cone. What is it about a country of just 3.4 million that gives it such a strong reputation for trustworthiness, transparency, and safety? Latin American countries and companies can gain significant insights from Uruguay’s rise as a business hub. Despite its small population of 3.4 million, Uruguay has established a strong reputation for trustworthiness, transparency, and safety, which are crucial for attracting both internal and international investors. Visitors often notice the country’s calmness and stable governance, which consistently ranks among the highest in Latin America. This stability allows investors to plan long-term, knowing there are unlikely to be sudden economic shocks. Uruguay is also a leader in sustainability, with 95% of its energy coming from renewable sources. This commitment not only enhances its global standing but serves as an ultimate example for other nations in the region. Latin American countries can learn that sustainability is not just an added benefit; it’s essential for future resilience and can act as a powerful incentive for attracting investment. Furthermore, Uruguay proactively seeks foreign investment, offering specific tax benefits for high-tech companies to establish regional hubs. By incentivizing innovation, other countries can cultivate competitive tech ecosystems. Education plays a pivotal role in Uruguay’s success. Many Uruguayans are multilingual and well-educated, illustrating the country's investment in developing a skilled workforce. This stands in stark contrast to the general trend of underinvestment in education across much of Latin America. Overall, Uruguay's story demonstrates that with smart policies, a commitment to sustainability, and a focus on education, Latin American nations can elevate their global business presence. There’s much to learn from Uruguay beyond its renowned barbecue techniques, particularly in how to create a thriving and competitive business environment.
