  • Medspa Closures Here’s the hard truth: MedSpas close because owners don’t understand what it takes. Time and again, we’ve seen the following scenarios: ❌ Investment firms see the potential and buy these businesses without knowing the ins and outs of the industry. ❌ Passionate estheticians decide to branch out on their own without knowing the investments needed. ❌ Successful small spas try to scale without the proper support in place. We love that the industry is gaining such momentum, but there are a few things potential MedSpa owners need to consider before opening up shop: ✅ Are you ready to make significant investments? We hear from so many owners; they just had no idea how much it would cost to open a spa with top-of-the-line machines. ✅ Are you willing to start small? Even with enough investment, it’s much smarter to start small and build up from there, but not everyone is willing to do that. ✅ Do you have clientele just waiting for you to open the doors? If you don’t have a list of eager buyers, you are going to have to work hard to build that list and not everyone has the capacity to do that. ✅ Does your staff have the proper training to drive sales? Without an engaged staff that’s eager to help with sales, you’re just crossing your fingers that sales will be made. ✅ Do you have SOPs in place to ensure compliance? If you don’t have SOPs, you really shouldn’t open the doors—it’s just too risky. But oftentimes, owners think this is an area they can work on later. Opening a new MedSpa is not easy, and there are a lot of considerations that owners don’t think of. But when done right, opening a MedSpa can be incredibly profitable. The reason Laura Jeannette and Co. exists is to help owners tackle all those considerations so they can run an exceptional, lucrative business and avoid closure. #WomenEntrepreneur #MedSpaInnovation #MedSpa

  • Last month, I had the opportunity to speak at the Women's Business League's International Women's Day luncheon. While really excited, I was also incredibly anxious because I planned to talk about money. Money talk can provoke a lot of shame. But more importantly, I shared how navigating money woes helped me to separate my worth from my revenue. Here are three ways owning your worth can pave the path to success: 1. Surround Yourself with Supporters: In a sea of doubters and naysayers, find your tribe. Surround yourself with people who believe in your worth and share your drive. I vividly recall a moment of doubt that fueled my determination to seek out mentors, leverage social platforms, and connect with those who uplifted me. 2. Break Your Own Ceiling: Invest in yourself fearlessly. Don't let self-doubt be the ceiling of your potential. Seeing others succeed on Instagram isn't a reason for envy; it's a beacon of possibility. Remember, if they can, so can you. Believe in yourself, invest in yourself, and watch as barriers dissolve. 3. Make an Impact: Owning your worth isn't just about personal success; it's about creating opportunities for others. As a leader, empowering my team to own their worth has been immensely rewarding. Whether it's inspiring fellow professionals at conventions or sparking enthusiasm in a colleague, the impact is profound. Take a moment to reflect. Are you surrounded by supporters who believe in your worth? Are you actively pursuing your goals? Are you making the impact you're capable of? Own your story, walk within it, and embrace your worthiness. As Brené Brown eloquently puts it, "You either walk inside your story and own it, or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness." Belief in my worth has been the catalyst for my success. #OwningYourWorth #BelieveInYourself #DreamToReality

  • Over the past two years, I've collaborated with Shanté and Jacqui to establish this company and others. I'm deeply humbled to work with them daily, and their contributions are immeasurable. Shanté and I met by chance, and I hired her before I could truly afford to. Her exceptional character and dedication were immediately evident to me. I needed her organizational and business acumen as I fulfilled my role as a dreamer, creator, brand builder, and idea maker. Shanté brings me back to reality and establishes the priorities for the week or even a day. She's a diligent worker who has significantly contributed to my growth. Seeing her smile in person yesterday as she returned from maternity leave was a highlight for me. Jacqui and I have a long history together and used to work together. When I reached out to her while she was raising her children, she eagerly accepted my offer to join my team. Her aesthetic brain has been instrumental in our industry growth. Jacqui is a wizard at content creation and has a deep understanding of the industry. Her passion for our clients sets her apart, and her ideas are pure genius. I'm grateful for her steadfast support from the very beginning. Entrepreneurship is not easy, and Shanté and Jacqui have stood by my side through thick and thin, supporting our growth and achievements. Their support means the world to me, and I am deeply thankful for their presence in my life and work. • Are you banking on social media? As a consulting firm for the aesthetics industry, this is one of the biggest mistakes we see owners making. Social media is just one tiny part of your marketing plan. And if you’re not seeing results, it could be that you’re putting too much focus on social media. To get foot traffic, you need to be emailing, calling, and telling everyone your goals. Every person at the spa should be involved in spreading the word—not just the marketing team. And don’t forget to get your customers involved with referral incentives. For retail sales, your team needs to tell every single person who walks through the door about your promotions and upcoming events. Regardless of your revenue goals, social media alone will not get you there. If you want to expand your marketing plan, send us a message. We love seeing our clients soar when they update their marketing plans. #womenentrepreneur #medspa #medspamarketing

  • As a MedSpa owner, the single most important thing is not the operations or the marketing, it’s the health and safety of your clients. If you hurt or burn a client, nothing else is going to matter.  Here’s how we set our clients up for customer safety: 1️⃣Ensure all customers have your direct number for emergencies. 2️⃣Create rock-solid SOPs. 3️⃣Go above and beyond when training your staff. 4️⃣Have a great lawyer on your side. At Laura Jeannette and Co., we can help you craft SOPs that keep your company in compliance and your clients safe. Let’s get on a discovery call today. • The fortune is in the follow-up. We’ve all heard this saying before, but so often we meet clients who don’t think this applies to the MedSpa world. We’re here to tell you it does. Follow-up is absolutely crucial for a MedSpa owner. That means giving the customer a call the day after their treatment to check in and see how they’re doing. Just like the doctor calls after you have a procedure, you should be checking in on your customers for follow-up. Not only is it just good business to follow up, but oftentimes the customer has a question or wants to run something by the nurse. How many times have you been to a doctor’s office or had a treatment done and realized afterward that you have a question? It happens all the time, and most times, people just carry on with their day. Maybe they’ll ask a friend or Google the answer, but most often, people don’t reach out, and their question goes unanswered. Unless, of course, you call to follow up. Give them the chance to ask the question or share their concerns. Alleviate their concerns and demonstrate the high-quality customer experience you are known for. The fortune IS in the follow-up for MedSpa owners. It’s your opportunity to build loyalty and keep them coming back because they know they are in good hands. We help MedSpas craft an unforgettable service for their customers. Send us a message to start building customer loyalty. #womeninbusiness #medspa #customerexperience
