Have you ever felt bored at a legal conference? You're not the only one... This paragraph sums up an all-too-common experience: "Important, timely (and not hugely controversial) topics adored by organisers are shuffled off the agenda, for fear of sponsor disapproval or inability to find willing speakers. Speakers, who wax lyrical and passionate about a panel topic in the advance prep call, become tepid and noncommittal on stage. Agenda items shoved in at sponsor's behest, despite being little more than 40-minute infomercials for whatever product or service they're pitching." This is the latest piece by the superb Terra Potter What do you think? Do you still find value in the content of these events? Is it all about the networking? Do you go because you want to or because you have to?
