OK, this one’s a biggie. oneNDA has been acquired by Law Insider, the world’s largest public contract database 🎉 We’ve achieved a lot in the three years from when oneNDA was first launched - 4000 official adopters across 56 countries, we estimate oneNDA gets signed around 7 million times a year! But oneNDA has always been about more than standardising the non-disclosure agreement. From the beginning, our vision was to drive industry change, fundamentally disrupting the way we perceived, created and managed contracts to make the process quicker, cheaper and less of a headache for us all. And what we know is that to truly realise our vision, we need to reach critical mass. We need more adoption to get you to the point where you’re sending out oneNDA and the other side is either also an adopter or so familiar with it, they don’t push back. That’s where Law Insider comes in. For over 10 years, Law Insider has served as the go-to database for sample contracts and clauses. With over 3 million registered users, and over 2 million annual contract downloads, Law Insider will introduce oneNDA to a massive global audience. But this acquisition is about more than just reach. It’s about growing beyond a single NDA template, and into an expansive library of contract standards, and AI-powered tools to assist lawyers in getting contracts signed faster. I’m also excited to announce my new role as Chief Legal Officer at Law Insider. After seven years at the helm of TLB, it is time for that chapter to close as I move into a role where I can fully dedicate myself to pushing oneNDA’s mission to new heights. oneNDA goes AI! 🚀 I am beyond excited to announce that after months of hard work, we are delighted to release the beta version of the oneNDA Playbook and we're inviting you, our trusted community to test it and help us refine it. The oneNDA Playbook will be free for the oneNDA community to use as we continue to deliver on our goal: the reduction of time-consuming, costly and often pointless NDA negotiations. 👉 Why are we doing this? Earlier this year, we asked for your feedback on how oneNDA is working for you. The main finding that emerged is that, although oneNDA is great when it's accepted, it is not helpful when it is not. Third parties continue to push their own templates or try to negotiate oneNDA. Until oneNDA reaches critical mass - which we will achieve (!), we need to help our community spend less time on third party NDAs. 👉 Enter the oneNDA Playbook The oneNDA Playbook developed in partnership with SimpleDocs, is a Word add-in which you can deploy against any third party NDA. The tool will allow you to quickly review the document against oneNDA's Core Principles. The tool is still in beta and we need your support to help refine it. 👉 What are the oneNDA Core Principles? oneNDA is made up of a number of clauses that are explicit principles of the standard. For example, notices are to be delivered by email - that's an explicit principle. But there are also other principles that do not appear in oneNDA such as the position that we do not accept liquidated damages or liability limitations. These have been embedded as rules in the oneNDA Playbook to help you find non-compliances with the standard in any third party NDA. Drawing out all principles will be a collective effort which is where you come in. 👉 How can you get involved? We're asking you to test the tool and give us your feedback. Much like all the other oneNDA initiatives, this one will very much be a crowdsourced effort to agree which principles should be picked up and how the tool should behave, including what features you'd like to see. 💬 How can you get involved? 'It's evolving......!' First we had the standardised oneNDA, now we have a principle-based oneNDA Playbook that uses genAI to help users quickly assess third-party non-disclosure agreements, ensuring their alignment with the core principles established by the standardisation pioneer’s community. I.e. rather than simply have a system where you must always use oneNDA’s model document, or accept something very different from a third-party, with the new genAI-based Playbook you can feed in an NDA, it is then analysed across eight core ‘principles’ that oneNDA believes make a solid non-disclosure agreement, then with its interface make changes as and where needed to complete the document.
