Another incredible week serving our community! In addition to the daily dedication our team shows to maintain exceptional service in managing our water and wastewater systems, we’ve also enjoyed connecting with the community in various ways. This week, we were honored to provide water for the Laurens Police annual fundraising golf tournament, present our Strategic Plan to partners, and recognize our team while adopting a resolution to thank our partner utilities for their hard work and commitment following Hurricane Helene. We also took an exciting first step towards launching a pre-apprenticeship program, joined Waterloo Elementary for Laurens District 55’s Trunk or Treat, and participated in Gray Court town hall meetings to share information and answer questions about the upcoming water system referendum that will be on the ballot November 5th. It was a fantastic day presenting to over 25 students and faculty Laurens School District 55 High School about our Inaugural Pre-Apprenticeship Program, sponsored by SOUTH CAROLINA RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION. Our Engineer, K.C. Price shared information about our Water Treatment Facility as well as an overview of the career opportunities available in the water and sewer industry. The goal of the Pre-Apprenticeship Program is to equip students with foundational skills and knowledge that can open pathways to joining Apprenticeship H2O after graduation. Good morning Laurens County! We can't believe it's been a week since Hurricane Helene left her mark on the Carolinas. This morning, although some of us still find ourselves without power we have much to be thankful for! Therefore, let's just call today #FortunateFriday. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to those impacted by the storm and especially those in Western North Carolina. We also can't say thank you enough to all of the utility personnel both local and from afar that have worked tirelessly over the last week to restore power and ensure high quality water continues to flow and efficient wastewater collection/treatment continue. Our partner electric utilities have been champions this week! If you find yourselves still without power, please continue to show patience and grace to those working so hard for us.
