    We recently held a ribbon cutting celebration at our Bridge at Canyon View, a stunning affordable apartment community overlooking the City of Austin. In partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA), this property offers 215 units of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom homes, dedicated to residents earning up to 60% of the area median income. As of July 19, The Bridges at Canyon View is already over 77% occupied and nearly 90% leased! This project would not have been possible without the support of our partners: Xpert Design & Construction, Citi, Housing Authority of the City of Austin, Redstone, and TCAM. Everyone deserves a quality place to live.

    We are thrilled to announce the unveiling of a new Bezos Academy planned for the Riverport Neighborhood in Louisville! This preschool will be located on our Riverport Campus, an intergenerational community that includes housing for seniors, families, and the Family Scholar House. This organization is dedicated to helping single parents pursuing a post-secondary education break the cycle of poverty. Bezos Academy Louisville – Riverport will the fourth location in the city, following Bezos Academy Louisville – Okolona, Bezos Academy Louisville – Russell (in partnership with us), and Bezos Academy Louisville – Fairdale (in partnership with the Louisville Metro Government). The new Riverport location is scheduled to open in 2026, with the other three opening in 2025. “At LDG, we believe everyone deserves a quality place to live. Over the years, we've expanded the definition of ‘quality’ to include programs and services that enhance the lives of our residents and the larger community,” said Chris Dischinger. “The addition of Bezos Academy to our community ensures that more children will have access to quality education, preparing them for a bright future.” Michael Abello, Chief Education Officer at Bezos Academy, added, “Building our preschools in affordable housing communities helps us serve families who need us the most. We’re on track to help 280 children in Louisville experience the magic and joy of preschool each year.” The construction of the three LDG/Bezos Academy preschools is being led by the Rita June Foundation, a public non-profit charity established by us to support health, education, and housing initiatives. Governed by an independent board, the foundation has raised almost $6 million to support the construction of these schools, with significant contributions from The Lift a Life Foundation, CE&S Foundation, Gheens Foundation, Social Weaver Foundation, and The J. Graham Brown Foundation. “While LDG led the effort to convince the Bezos team to Louisville, we were certainly not alone in our efforts,” said Lisa Dischinger. “As a lifelong Louisvillian, I am proud of the way our entire community has come together to ensure we are able to build these schools as quickly as possible and expand access to more families in our community.” Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring quality education and opportunities to our community!

    We are thrilled to share that we've broken ground at Bezos Academy Louisville – Russell, our latest tuition-free preschool, located right next to our Eclipse development currently under construction! Bezos Academy offers an incredible, full-day, year-round, Montessori-inspired preschool program for children ages 3 to 5. The organization covers all operating expenses, so these exceptional programs come at no cost to the families we serve. At Bezos Academy, they hire, train, develop, and pay talented educators who are passionate about shaping young minds. They also provide everything the children need during the day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level (about $120,000 per year for a family of four) with children aged three to four years old are eligible to apply. We're excited we're embarking on this exciting journey with Bezos Academy to build a brighter future for our community's children.

    Our team had an incredible time at the Russell Place of Promise (RPOP) Development 101 event, connecting with neighbors and sharing updates on our Eclipse in Russell development and Resident Services programming. The Eclipse in Russell is on track to officially open in early spring 2025! This development will offer 280 units of quality, affordable mixed-income housing, serving families at the 30% and 80% AMI levels. We are passionate about community engagement and are committed to being good neighbors. Our contributions go beyond housing. Last year, we donated $100,000 to improve Elliott Park, and this year, we began construction on Bezos Academy Russell, a tuition-free preschool set to open in early 2026. Community matters to us, and we’re dedicated to making a positive impact on our future residents and the surrounding neighborhood. Stay tuned for more updates!

    We are excited to share that we held a ribbon cutting of the 808 at Skyline Ridge in Nashville, Tennessee, and announced our exciting new partnership to establish the Urban League Middle Tennessee’s (ULMT) Empowerment Center! The 808 at Skyline Ridge is an affordable housing development featuring 178 units with spacious two- and three-bedroom garden-style apartments. Our residents and the broader community will benefit from a 2,500-square-foot ULMT Empowerment Center, offering a variety of essential services such as workforce development, financial literacy, youth and educational programming, health and quality of life planning, and arts and culture. Construction on the center is currently underway. In addition, LDG Development has made a significant donation to the Metro Nashville Historic Commission Foundation, resulting in the redevelopment of additional public green space at the Historic Bashaw Cemetery, located near Music City Solar. As of June 17, the 808 at Skyline Ridge is more than 94% occupied. Chris Dischinger, co-founder of LDG Development, emphasized that the addition of ULMT’s Empowerment Center aligns with our commitment to providing services that empower residents to achieve their goals and improve their families' lives. This development represents a $50 million investment in the Madison area.
