Do you know what an Activated patient is? It's a term that doesn't seem to be commonly used in healthcare, but it is important to understand the term. An activated patient is a patient’s knowledge, willingness, and confidence to take independent actions to manage their healthcare. Only 43% of patients in the United States are considered activated patients. So our questions is; Why is the number of activated patients so low? We believe it is because many patients aren't informed about their care, and when that happens they may leave it to others to manage. Studies show that a more informed patient is a more engaged patient, and a more engaged patient has better outcomes. It is our duty as healthcare providers to ensure our patients have the best outcomes as possible, and Lead My Care is here to do our part. We have been working on a solution to help provide patients with a personalized health assistant, and we wanted to give a sneak peek on what we have been working on. Our health assistant will provide patients the guidance they need through their health journey in a format that is digestible and easy to understand. While there is much work to be done, we believe that over time we will deliver patients the guidance they have been searching for to become that activated patient.
