Leadership Tennessee’s LT NEXT Class IX had an enriching 24-hours in Knoxville, exploring the region’s key initiatives. From innovative partnerships in mental health to fostering civic engagement at the Howard H. Baker Jr. School of Public Policy and Public Affairs, the class delved into what makes Knoxville and East Tennessee thrive. They also gained insights on the future of AI from top experts and heard from Tennessee Valley Authority leadership while touring the River Forecast Center with U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, discussing the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Class IX’s experience wrapped up with a visit to the new Smokies Stadium led by Denark Construction, Inc, an ad hoc conversation with LT Class I Member Randy Boyd, and a funfilled and inspiring panel of leaders from the Knoxville Area Urban League, Knoxville's Community Development Corporation, and the City of Knoxville’s Urban Design and Development office on baseball and housing. Next stop is Memphis, TN, in late October. #LeadershipTennesseeNEXT #LeadersLeading #LTNextClassIX #PurposefulDialogue #ActivatedNetwork #CivicUnderstanding
