Over three exciting days, we participated last week in the 5th Sierra Leone National #GirlsSummit, organised by the Girls Advocacy Development Network! Through workshops, sessions, and conversations, girls explored key areas such as #innovation and #entrepreneurship, digital literacy, sexual reproductive health, mental health, leadership and advocacy. We were proud to partner with key stakeholders in #SierraLeone such as UNDP Sierra Leone, Plan International, UN Women, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), CARE SIERRA LEONE AND LIBERIA, UNICEF and many others. Together, we are driving lasting, sustainable change that empowers young girls and enables them to continue their education. #Leadership #MentalHealth #DigitalLiteracy #Entrepreneurship #SexualReproductiveHealth#LehWiLan Cambridge Education

Access to hygiene products and education about menstruation is crucial for enhancing girls' confidence, self-esteem, and school attendance. When girls have the right resources and access to quality education, they can pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. Leh Wi Lan, in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, is providing hygiene kits and educating girls on menstruation and sexual health. We remain committed to build a future where every girl is empowered with the knowledge and support she needs to thrive! #DayOfTheGirl

On this International #DayoftheGirlChild, we celebrate the strength and resilience of every girl in the world and especially in #SierraLeone. It's crucial that ALL girls have access to the resources they need to thrive. Sanitary products not only empower girls to manage their health but also improve attendance and confidence in school. Let's ensure that every girl can envision a future where she is included, supported and unstoppable! #DayOfTheGirl #GirlsVisionForTheFuture Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education Sightsavers Girls' Education Challenge

This year World Teachers’ Day reminds us to value teachers' voices and celebrate the pivotal role they play in shaping the future of education. So we asked these teachers: what message or advice would you want to share with their peers and education policy-makers in Sierra Leone? They came back with fantastic advice – from improving safety and strengthening inclusion, to building quality teaching through professional development. Every day, we’re inspired by the dedication of our teachers to ensure our learners can become leaders of tomorrow. Join us as we champion their voices and thank them for their commitment. Schools re-open across #SierraLeone this week and 150 principals and teachers will be starting the academic year with improved skills gained from the School Leadership Programme (SLP). After 12 weeks of studying and coaching on the first SLP course from The Teaching Service Commission, these school leaders and teachers will be applying all they’ve learnt throughout the first term. They’ll put into practice concepts of educational leadership, develop a School Improvement Plan and support their colleagues to implement stronger inclusion practices. We’re looking forward to seeing the improvements they will make to their schools, fellow teachers and the learning experiences of students. #EducationMatters #GlobalDevelopment #EducationForProgress #SchoolLeadership

As a new academic year begins in #SierraLeone, we're pledging to support schools to create and promote safer classrooms. So that every learner can gain a quality education without the fear of violence. Just a few weeks ago, the Government of Sierra Leone launched a new version of the National Referral Protocol (NRP) – a vital document for anyone working in the education sector. The NRP gives clear guidance on best practice when it comes to responding to, and dealing with, reports of violence from learners - whether you’re a teacher, mentor, district official or a community member. It’s freely available on the Sierra Leone Knowledge Platform: https://lnkd.in/eadiXQcb
