We're looking for innovative solutions that can transform the way people get from point A to point B safely, affordably and efficiently. Michigan's Growth Office will invest $100,000 in one innovative solution. The PitchMI competition is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 at 2:30 p.m. and is open to pre-seed, seed, Series A, and Series B companies with 51% of their employees residing in the State of Michigan. Applicants must be able to participate in-person and solutions should be demonstration ready with working prototypes. 🚨Make MI Home application deadline extended!🚨 The deadline to submit proposals for Make MI Home has been extended to Wednesday, August 14 at 11:59 p.m. At the end of July, Michigan's Growth Office launched Make MI Home, a first-of-its-kind regional pilot program to retain or attract talent in Michigan. Last week, we visited Vicksburg, MI as part of our summer roadshow to highlight and amplify ways regions across Michigan are retaining and attracting talent in their communities. Local officials took Chief Growth Officer Hilary Doe on a walking tour to showcase placemaking investments to revitalize their downtown area, making it walkable and rich with amenities such as parks, restaurants and shopping. She also swung by ‘burg days of summer, a family-friendly street festival hosted every Wednesday as a way to bring neighbors together downtown. Talent wants great places, great opportunities and welcoming communities where they choose to call home. This week, Michigan's Growth Office announced that applications are open for Make MI Home, a first-of-its-kind regional pilot program to retain or attract talent in Michigan! The Office has allocated $500,000 for regions to test the efficacy of unique offerings that keep and connect talent to their communities. Pilot proposals must originate from project consortiums made up of eligible entities located within the same prosperity region in the State of Michigan. If you want to do purpose-driven work to fight the climate crisis, come to Michigan. According to a recent poll we conducted, 58% of respondents said it's very important to them that the community they choose to live in be climate resilient. The funding awarded today from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will help Michigan become even more resilient by building out more wind, solar and clean energy projects faster to meet climate goals. Getting this done will create good-paying jobs, drive down energy costs and protect protect the state’s air, land and water.  #LetsGrowMichigan #MIHealthyClimatePlan
