It's #BackToSchool week for Baltimore students today! We're wishing the best of luck to our senior Youth Works Employees who helped out at Lexington Market over the summer: Cameron worked with us in our admin office, and Xavier worked for Betty Lee's Candy Dish. Scroll to see what each young man's favorite part of the experience was! Huge thanks also to the Youth Works students who assisted in our garage and at Sunnyside Cafe! Baltimore's oldest public market -- benefiting the community in food access, small business enterprises, and diversity.
About us
Lexington Market has been a mainstay of Baltimore life for more than 200 years, and during its history, has been housed in many, many different market structures. Throughout its long history, its spirit of entrepreneurship, vibrancy, and culture has always endured. A sister non-profit organization to Baltimore Public Markets. Together, making Baltimore's markets stronger as we strengthen community connections by: • Perpetuating the city’s historic public market tradition through the sale of fresh and prepared foods in a welcoming public space, • Providing affordable retailing opportunities, particularly for independent, locally‐owned businesses and regional farmers, • Contributing to community wellness through access to, and education about, healthy and affordable fresh and prepared foods, • Supporting and stabilizing the commercial base of neighborhoods where our markets are located.

Celebrate and shop at the incredible Black-owned businesses in Lexington Market today on #Juneteenth 2024, and all year round! Juneteenth is a great opportunity to celebrate and uplift Black entrepreneurs in our city and all around the US, but it's equally important to carry that energy and support into every day of the year. Lexington Market is the perfect place to get #flowers, #candy, #food, #soap, and #jewelry from incredible Black-owned businesses that are a huge part of what makes this Market, and Baltimore, great!
