On this day in 1908, Thurgood Marshall was born here in Baltimore. One of the city’s most famous figures, Thurgood Marshall was an American lawyer and civil rights activist who would later become the first African American Supreme Court Justice. VB goes volunteering! Last week, Visit Baltimore staffers had the opportunity to volunteer with the Living Classrooms Foundation refreshing the facility with a fresh coat of paint indoors and painting raised flower beds outdoors. Through unique learning environments since 1985, Living Classrooms provides access to more equitable education, workforce development, health and wellness and community safety opportunities that enable individuals to achieve their goals and build safer, stronger, healthier communities.
