The LGI Homes Summer Intern Program has come to an end and what an experience it was. These past 10 weeks have been amazing. Having Nikolas and Owen at The Crossing at Palm River learning the LGI Way and how to be a successful Construction Manager in a high volume community was quite the challenge for them but they knocked it out of the park. Right from the beginning, they were dialed in and committed themselves to learning as much as possible during this internship. From memorizing the Culture, Core Values, Floor Plans, doing frame walks to running their own sets of homes on BuildPro, conducting Construction updates and Homeowner Orientations on their own, they accomplished every task presented to them. I’m extremely proud of how quickly they adapted and became self managing CMs. I’m very grateful to have this opportunity to have two interns with me for the summer. Thanks to AJ Jordan, Kevin Sink, Amy Turner, SHRM-CP, Tyler Pate and Hayden Clark for this opportunity and trusting me with two interns.

On Wednesday, July 24th, we hosted our Dallas-Fort Worth Office Manager Retreat at our local corporate office. It was a jam-packed day centered around We, Us, Together and CANI (constant and never-ending improvement). We discovered what it means to hire the best with some astounding stats, received company, market, and Office Manager role business updates, gained a deeper understanding of what it means to Eat that Frog and what tools we can use to strengthen our time management skills, improved our core skill set in our role, and ended the day charging up our Rhino mentality. Prepping and executing this Retreat with my fellow Rhino Squad/Regional Office Manager extraordinaire, Rachel Mayhew, was truly a highlight of my LGI Homes career. What an honor and privilege it is to be a resource and leader to these amazing 11 women. They are the positive, smiling faces our customers and staff see first as they walk into our Information Centers around the DFW market.
