This Women in Construction Week, we're highlighting some of the driven, resilient women at Liberty who are making a difference on our projects and in their communities. Meet Melissa Johns, Mission Critical at Liberty! 💪 Melissa is a Laborer with Local 130 in Scranton, PA, and has been with Liberty since 2024. But there’s more to her than just her job title—she’s also a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania and a proud mom to Hunter and Dylan. ☀️ Outside of work? She loves spending time at the beach with her fiancé, enjoying the sun and sand. 🏗 What led her to construction? Working as a Spec Temp at Susquehanna Nuclear Plant introduced her to the trades and opened the door to joining Laborers Local 130. 🔧 A Day in Melissa’s Work Boots: ✅ Manages temporary lighting, generators, and polygon units across the site ✅ Keeps the building clean using Zamboni floor cleaners ✅ Ensures safety and efficiency on the job site 💡 Misconceptions About Women in Construction? That women don’t make as much as men in the same roles. Women in this field work hard, earn their place, and get paid accordingly. 💪 Biggest Influence? Her fiancé, Jerry, who has built a successful career in the union, traveling to different jobs across the country. 🎯 Keys to Success in Construction? ✔ Safety first ✔ Strong communication skills ✔ Ability to take direction and adapt 💬 Her Advice to Women in Construction? "If you have a goal, go after it and try your best to achieve it." Melissa proves that construction isn’t for everyone—it takes dedication, grit, and the willingness to get your hands dirty. She’s breaking barriers and proving that women belong in every aspect of the industry! 👏💥 #WomenInConstruction #MissionCritical #LibertyFamily #BreakingBarriers #ConstructionLife #WomenInConstructionWeek2025 #WICweek

This Women in Construction Week, we're highlighting some of the driven, resilient women at Liberty who are making a difference on our projects and in their communities. Meet Emily Russell, The Heart of the Office & Master of the Unexpected! As Executive Assistant at Liberty’s Boston location, Emily thrives in the fast-paced world of construction. No two days are the same—and that’s exactly what she loves! 💡 What inspired her to join construction? Growing up on job sites with her dad, a master carpenter and electrician, and learning the art of DIY from her mom, Emily developed a deep appreciation for design, architecture, and the craft of building something great. 🌊 Outside of work, you’ll find her… Hosting gatherings with friends and family Baking and cooking up something delicious Taking long scenic drives by the ocean 🌅 💪 Her biggest career achievement? Taking a leap of faith—leaving Newport, RI, for a fresh start and a new challenge with Liberty. Growth and change can be intimidating, but also incredibly rewarding! 🔑 Her #1 lesson from construction? "Flexibility is key! Things don’t always go as planned, but being able to adapt and problem-solve is what makes all the difference." 👷♀️ Her advice to women considering a career in construction? "DO IT! The challenges will be there, but so will the rewards. Taking that leap could inspire more women to do the same." This Women in Construction Week, we're highlighting some of the driven, resilient women at Liberty who are making a difference on our projects and in their communities. Meet Gabby Farinas. At Liberty, Gabby wears many hats—Elevator Operator, Jobsite Translator, and a Woman in Construction. But her favorite title? Mom. With over 15 years of experience, she started as a subcontractor, running her own residential and commercial painting company. Now, she’s thriving in construction, always looking for new opportunities to grow. When she’s not on the job, she loves sharing a good meal with friends or visiting her daughter. We asked Gabby about her career in construction: 💡 What keeps her inspired? Seeing the satisfaction on a client’s face after a job well done. 👷♀️ Her advice to women in construction? Learn a trade, ask questions, be observant, and most importantly—be confident! 🙌 A misconception about women in this field? That they become "too masculine." The truth? Women bring strength, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to every project. 👊 A message from Gabby: "To all the women considering a career in construction — We are not weak. We are skilled, determined, and ready to build the future." #WomenInConstructionWeek2025 #WICweek #LibertyFamily

Liberty Equipment recently erected one of our Terex SK-415 tower cranes at the Aura, a 15-story residential building that will offer 56 luxury units in Naples, FL. The crane was installed to a 141-foot height under hook, and will eventually rise to a final height of 199 feet. Kudos to our amazing team in Florida for getting this crane up safely and on schedule.
