Josué never imagined he would be in a situation to need an organ transplant, but after his niece encouraged him to seek medical attention, doctors told him a liver transplant was his only option to survive. This realization was extremely difficult for Josué, but with the love of his family, the help of his doctors and his incredible donor hero, Josué was able to overcome the difficult situation. Since his transplant, Josué has enjoyed getting back to activities like traveling, experiencing other cultures and continuing with new challenges. “I want to thank everyone who made this opportunity possible, especially my donor and his family, for believing in donation to continue giving life,” says Josué. 💙 Through Josué, his donor's legacy lives on, inspiring others. Through organ, eye and tissue donation, your story continues. Register at MyStoryContinues.com. ♾️ #LifeLinkInfinity #LiverAwarenessMonth

Shea Carter watched her mom, Lisa, battle diabetes and kidney failure for years until Lisa needed a life-saving transplant. Without hesitation, Shea volunteered to be a living donor. She was a perfect match and donated one of her kidneys. 💙💚 With that gift, Lisa experienced renewed life for more than ten years. Unfortunately, diabetes took a toll once again, and Lisa had to go back on dialysis. As her deteriorating health made everyday tasks more difficult, one shared pastime brought Lisa joy and comfort—watching movies. Shea did everything she could to make going to the movies comfortable for her mother, and they went often. Lisa passed away, but Shea is thankful for every additional moment her donated kidney allowed her to spend with her mom. To this day, Shea still curls up with popcorn—her mother’s picture by her side—while she enjoys their favorite movies. 📸: Barbara Banks Photography #FacesofTransplantation
