We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation! Their support in showcasing the Lake Lorna Doone Park renovation highlights the impact we can make together for our community. If you haven't experienced the beauty of Lake Lorna Doone Park, add it to your list of things to do! A great way to make this a reality is by joining one of Lift Orlando's monthly neighborhood tours! Explore our upcoming tour dates in April at LiftOrlando.org/tour! Arnie's Army Charitable Foundation Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard City of Orlando Eddy Moratin
Grateful for the Power of Partnership A heartfelt thank you to the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation for featuring the Lake Lorna Doone Park renovation and the children who benefit from its programs in such a beautiful way. Their generosity and commitment to community impact continue to inspire us. Special thanks to Amy Saunders and Jason Peevy for making this possible, and to Bill Dymond and Steve Hogan and Thomas K. Sittema for participating in the video honoring Arnold Palmer’s incredible legacy. This project, featured at the Arnie's Army Charitable Foundation Experience during the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard is a testament to what happens when vision, generosity, and collaboration come together with the hopes of residents. We’re so proud to see West Lakes and its families thrive, and we’re grateful to be part of this journey with incredible partners.

Every day, we're grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best and brightest in the industry! Thank you to Rahkiah B. of South City Foundation for capturing our time in Tallahassee as we connected with legislators to share the holistic work we're doing to strengthen neighborhoods through our state! Purpose Built Communities Eddy Moratin Upendo Shabazz Travis Williams
Just made it back to Tallahassee after Hill Day with Purpose Built Communities . I’m so grateful to be apart of such an outstanding group of leaders transforming communities across the nation one neighborhood at a time. I’m particularly proud to be apart of our Florida Dream Team, with Eddy Moratin , Upendo Shabazz and Travis Williams ! ✨ We spent a full day meeting with our Florida Representatives and Congressional leaders introducing and reintroducing the Purpose Built model for place based neighborhood transformation and offering our expertise as a helpful resource for some of the related issues they are working hard to address within our districts. Anytime Purpose Built leaders get together it’s not only a time to deepen our work but to also refuel and recharge ourselves in the presence of the people who “get us” the most. It’s our time to encourage each other, celebrate one another and engage in meaningful exchange of ideas and strategies that help ensure our individual and collective success.

This week, Thomas Tyler, our College & Career Specialist, had the pleasure of visiting one of the 2024 EmpowerED scholars, Andrew, at the University of Central Florida! Andrew is excelling in his studies and took the initiative to explore the Career Services office. While there, he discovered valuable opportunities to connect with employers and plans to schedule a resume review session soon. Recapping the visit, Thomas shared, “It’s inspiring to see our scholars like Andrew take charge of their future. Programs like EmpowerED are here to open doors and support their incredible journeys!” We're proud of Andrew and grateful for the work of our education team to empower our scholarship recipients every day!

Celebrating Black History Month! We're kicking off Black History Month with this inspiring moment from the Education Team's first Scholars Cohort Meeting over Winter Break. In this photo, 2024 Cohort graduate Zariyah stands with members of our education team and Thomas Tyler, our new College and Career Specialist. Zariyah is attending Bethune-Cookman University, the only female-founded HBCU in the country—a powerful reminder of the legacy of Black excellence in education. We couldn't be prouder of scholars like Zariyah, who inspire us and show what’s possible when we UpLift one another. #BlackHistoryMonth #LiftOrlando #EducationMatters #HBCULegacy #CradleToCareer
