About us

Ligamina Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity with its legal headquarters in Columbus, South Carolina, and operational headquarters in New York. Ligamina is part of the U.S. chapter of the Global Compact. The charity was founded by a group of young graduates in economic and humanities disciplines who are eager to serve the community, particularly all its most vulnerable groups, with a special focus on the young generations. • The main objective of Ligamina is therefore to support projects for the enhancement of artistic and cultural heritage with a concrete impact on social and cultural sustainability, primarily located in Italy, through activities such as the enhancement of local areas and communities, restoration, the provision of scholarships, and support to Italian and American schools. According to Ligamina, carrying out social and cultural projects means, first and foremost, promoting and implementing inclusion by giving a voice to people, supporting vulnerable groups, recovering collective memory, and revitalizing the spirit of places: a mission that the charity has embraced and committed to for over ten years. • Among the main projects completed by Ligamina are the recovery of an Arnolfian slab at the Church of the Santi Apostoli in collaboration with the Vatican Museums, and the first recovery in history of the crypt of the Temple of Romulus at the Roman Forum, which included the granting of related scholarships; other initiatives include collaborations with the Fondo Edifici di Culto, the Ligamina Sustainability Prize for young artists in partnership with the National Network of Italian Artistic High Schools, the granting of additional scholarships, the organization of talks and workshops, and many projects with the Accademia d’Armi – Casa Museo Musumeci Greco, including support and mutual project integration in the Scherma & Cultura (Fencing & Culture) initiative.

Ligamina is proud to once again support the Biennale dei Licei Artistici this year, organized by ABiLiArt and ReNaLiArt in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit. This year, the Biennale has reached its 5th edition, with the theme of “The Dream”, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate-General for Museums, Italian Museums, and the Museum of Civilizations in Rome, which is hosting the exhibition in its prestigious spaces in the EUR district of Rome. With the goal of enhancing young talents and art in all its forms, the Biennale aligns with the values promoted by Ligamina. In this spirit of shared goals, we have decided to renew our support and the Ligamina Sustainability Prize: a sustainability award for the younger generations that the charity’s president, Graziano Curri, presented to the students last October 2nd at the Sala Aldo Moro of the Ministry of Education and Merit. As part of its artistic section, the prize was awarded this year to three artworks that, in addition to being brilliant expressions of creative urgency, conveyed to us most strongly the message of respect for people and our planet, and the importance of making it a better place, especially for those who will come after us. We’d like to extend a special thanks to Mariagrazia Dardanelli for contributing to strenghten our support. #art #environment #youngergeneration #award #sustainability #arte #ambiente #giovani #premio #sostenibilità
