About us

I help people get "unstuck" from being lost and confused so they can imagine and design their life's next chapter. I love working with: • empty nesters wondering who they are once the kids are gone • relaunchers and boomers not ready to go quietly into retirement • people who love their work but their jobs • anyone feeling lost, confused, or stuck and trying to figure out their 'What's next?" Let's talk if: • the role you've been in has changed so much you don't know who you are anymore • you want to make a difference in the world through your work • you want to quit work but don't want to jump from one miserable job to another • your struggling student needs guidance and accountability -- just not from you Life doesn't have to happen to you; careers aren't about ladders. When we imagine life and career happiness, we can make the choices to move us toward them. Instead of setting paths, we can go "off-road," moving up, down, or sideways; we can pivot in and out of positions and industries. Best of all, we can find or design work that aligns with our skills, interests, and values we want to maintain. Partner with me to discover what matters most to you, set goals and checkpoints, and recognize your whole self in the outcome. We'll ask, "Why not?" and "What if?" because these questions dig deeper and push the imagination to unearth and name what will bring you work that gives you joy and meaning along with your paycheck. A special note for liberal arts folks: I was a lost and confused history major, so I get it. We liberal arts folks are passionate lifelong learners, infinitely curious, and loathe to pick just one option. For better or worse, we see connections between almost everything. It's exciting but can prove miserable when deciding, "What do I want to do next?" How would your life be different if you asked this instead, "Who do I want to be?"

  • It’s finally here!! Today is Evaluate Your Life Day! If you’ve been following my posts this week, you’ll either be ready to do some self-celebration or some remedial work! If you’ve been following along, Monday you reflected on what really matters to you. Wednesday, you critically looked at who you are down deep and the life you are currently living – you identified some gaps to address. Friday, you stood up for you. You accepted the mantle of author of your life and committed to stepping into that role, one baby step at a time. You’ve done the work (or can, if you have the courage). Celebrate Your Journey: 👉 Acknowledge your progress: Recognize how far you've come in just a few days. You dug deep and rediscovered bits of you that went missing the day-to-day living. Pat yourself on the back for this gift of discernment. 👉 Practice gratitude: Appreciate the good in your life, even amidst challenges. 👉 Embrace the unknown: Authoring a path to meaning isn’t a quick one-and-done. But trust the process; be open to new possibilities available to you after each step toward the you you want to be. Evaluate Your Life Day is a reminder that you are the author of your own story. It's a chance to pause, reflect, and make conscious choices that lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Don't just evaluate your life – design it. Let’s talk. #EvaluateYourLife #AuthorOfYourLife #LifeDesign #LifeDesignCoach #LighthouseLifeDesign #Rochester

  • 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 On National Face Your Fears Day, take a bold step towards conquering your anxieties and unlocking your full potential. Imagine the possibilities that await you when you overcome those limitations that hold you back! 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞: 👉 Embrace the Challenge: Today is your chance to step outside your comfort zone. Whether it's a small step or a giant leap, take action to face one of your fears. 👉 Make a List and Conquer: Identify your fears, big and small. Start with the less intimidating ones and gradually work your way up to the bigger challenges. 👉 Seek Support: Share your goals with friends, family, or a therapist. Tap into your support network. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 👉 Overcome Social Anxiety: If networking phone calls make you nervous, start by calling a familiar friend or former colleague. Gradually build up to attending a networking event or making a cold call. 👉 Set Boundaries: Fear of conflict can prevent us from setting necessary boundaries. Start small by expressing a minor concern at work, then gradually work up to having a more difficult conversation. 👉 Conquer Interviewing: If the thought of interviewing terrifies you, start by practicing in front of a mirror or with a trusted friend. Then, practice by recording yourself. (It’s a skill – it gets easier with practice!) 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: National Face Your Fears Day was founded in 2007 by public speaker Steven Hughes. Since then, it has served as an annual reminder to confront our fears and embrace the freedom that comes with overcoming them. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: Every journey starts with a single step. Don't let fear dictate your life. Use this day as a catalyst to break free from its grip and step into a brighter, more fulfilling future. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? • Coming Soon! October 19 is Evaluate Your Life Day! Some of these holidays are a bit silly (ex. Watch for Candy Corn Day later this month!), but this goes deeper. For those of us grappling with questions of identity and purpose, meaning and purpose, this day prompts us (if we dare) to do more than a casual check-in. It is an opportunity to be intentional, to set time aside to do the reflection and introspection that’s needed to honestly reassess current paths and to consciously choose to take the steps needed to create a life that truly resonates. Beyond the Checklist: Typical "Evaluate Your Life Day" advice often focuses on goals, achievements, and to-do lists. While those are important, they don't always address the deeper yearning for meaning that many of us experience. If you're feeling a disconnect between your current life and the life you truly desire, use these days leading up to Evaluate Your Life Day to consider these journaling prompts: Honest Self-Reflection: 👉 What truly matters to me? 👉 What brings me joy and fulfillment? 👉 What kind of impact do I want to make? 👉 What are my core values, and how am I living them?" These aren’t “off the top of your head” questions. Please make some time for them – your future (and current) happiness depends on it. If you’d like to get our “Core Values” exercise tip sheet, you can find it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d56ikgUT Evaluate Your Life Day is a reminder that you are the author of your own story. It's a chance to pause, reflect, and make conscious choices that lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Don't just evaluate your life – design it. #CreateALifeYouLove #LifeDesign #AuthorOfYourLife #LifeDesignCoach #LighthouseLifeDesign #Rochester
