Meet the head of our technology team, Lightshift CTO Joe Leavitt⚡️ From his former Navy and MIT engineering days, Joe brings his passion and expertise to lead Lightshift's engineering, construction, operations, and technology teams. Under his leadership, we’re bringing together multiple advanced technologies to deploy comprehensive and scalable battery storage solutions across the U.S. We’re lucky to have Joe’s years of experience and commitment to safety. We sleep well at night knowing that our battery systems are in the hands of someone who used to operate nuclear-powered submarines. As Joe puts it, “It’s a particularly exciting time to be in this industry. As energy storage deployment is ramping up around the world, the opportunities and need for innovation to satisfy novel and demanding grid applications are abundant. We get to drive that innovation, and that’s pretty cool.” When he’s not working with batteries, you can catch him biking around DC or keeping up with the latest in the pro peloton.
