  • Happy Monday, everyone! 🎶 This week, we're excited to highlight an incredible new documentary from ESPN: Rhythm Masters: A Mickey Hart Experience. Mickey Hart is not only one of the greatest percussionists and creative minds in history but also a founding member of the Grateful Dead. As a passionate sports fan and close friend to the late, great Bill Walton, Mickey shares a unique perspective on the connection between music and sports: rhythm. As Mickey explains, rhythm and sports connect us all. By breaking down this relationship, six key elements emerge: Timing, Power, Speed, Focus, Endurance, and Creativity. Rhythm Masters takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of rhythm and its connection to life itself. 🏅Join Mickey in conversation with some of the world’s greatest athletes, coaches, and musicians—including Joe Montana, Laila Ali, Ronnie Lott, Marshawn Lynch, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Phil Jackson, and many more—as they explore how rhythm shapes both sports and creativity. "The idea is that sports is not there just to play. The real reason is raised consciousness. The ability of rhythmic entrainment to get into the space of the now." 💡 Discover this documentary and more in the 'Media Monday' section of our LinkTree! If you love rhythm, the Grateful Dead, or sports, this is a must-watch. ✌️Have a great week, everyone! --------------------- #limitless #performance #psychology #artist #music #musician #espn #gratefuldead #deadhead #rhythmmasters

  • ☀️ What's up everybody! 🛹This week we're stoked to feature a message from pro skateboarder, Tyson Bowerbank, sourced from his recent digital portrait for The Platfrm, entitled Tyson Bowerbank, A Genuine Powerhouse. Shoutout to Skyler Wilder for this awesome description: "Tyson Bowerbank is a genuine powerhouse. On the board, a total powerhouse of ability both technical and of impact. Off the board, he is a truly genuine individual—a quality that has described him his entire life. But that’s only the beginning of his story. Over the years Tyson has struggled on and off the board, as well. Between picking up sponsors, chasing the dream of someday turning pro, realizing the dream and then watching it slip away—it’s enough to drive anyone away. Then you tack on the rest of what life has in store for you and who knows where you net out. Tyson opens up about his own bouts with mental illness and the toll it took on his ability to chase his dream. That’s when family and friends came into play. For Tyson, it was both. With the constant support of a tight family, it was after his friend Ryan Decenzo reached out and offered a second chance that the fire reignited." 🔗🌲 Check out Tyson's digital portrait when you have a moment. A few themes that shine through are authenticity, leaning on your support network, learning from struggles, the power of purpose & reconnecting with your 'why'. 🤙We're looking forward to watching Tyson show off his talents this weekend in the street events at the Rockstar Energy Open. Have a great week! ------------------------------ #performance #sport #psychology #mentalskills #training #powerhouse #enjoyment #authenticity #autonomy

The different ways that he gets his mind right are textbook high-performance psychology in action. In this interview, he dives into his Individual Zone of Optimal Functioning (IZOF) (Hanin, 1997, 2000), or his preferred (and perceived as his most favorable) emotional and mental state when immersed in a performance. 💭 What does your pre-performance routine look like? 💭 What is your "IZOF?" 🔗🌲 Check out the mentioned research within our bio, and below you’ll find the link to the mentioned article. • ☀️Happy Saturday everyone! 🥇As the Olympics come to an epic conclusion later this weekend, we want to share an inspiring message from renowned author and speaker Brad Stulberg, sourced from his recent opinion piece for the NY Times, entitled "What the Olympics Can Teach Us About Excellence." We'll keep it short and encourage you to check out the full article! As Brad shares, "Excellence is a process. That process can, and must, be renewed every day. The real reward for excellence is not the medal or the promotion, but the person you become and the relationships you forge along the way." 🎯The Olympic Games are no doubt a captivating spectacle, and while the performances may seem out of reach for most of us, they also offer a chance for personal reflection. As Brad goes on to say, the Olympics offer us an opportunity to look inward and reflect on our versions of excellence. This lens comes through three questions: - How should I spend the time I have? - How do I summon the focus to pursue my interests with care? - What does this say about the values I hold and my desire to practice them? 🔗🌲 Check out the full article in the NY Times for free—the link can be found in the 'Weekly Messages' section at the link in our bio! How do you define excellence in your life? Share your thoughts below! ------------------------------ #performance #sport #psychology #mentalskills #training #olympics #excellence #gameswideopen
