Lincoln Road recently hosted two Drake Scholar Retreats, in Chicago and Wisconsin. Both weekends were filled with networking, learning, and a shared commitment to advancing women’s leadership. There are over 200 women leaders in the Drake Scholar network; they represent the best and brightest across a broad range of fields, from graduate and undergraduate programs at leading universities across the country. Special thanks to Ellen Taaffe, author of The Mirrored Door, and Donna de St. Aubin for facilitating enriching leadership development sessions. To all of the Scholars who attended, we appreciate the feedback we’ve received so far; please keep it coming! Some highlights: “I was thoroughly impressed by the depth of knowledge shared at the retreat. This weekend left me feeling empowered, grateful, and optimistic about the future.” “The variety of events combining professional learning and fun were a recipe for lasting connections and inspiring conversations.” “This retreat showed me just how powerful a room full of women can be. We have all accomplished so much already that we should be proud of, but we have so much more to work towards together, and when we come together, I know that great things are possible.”

We are a transformative organization invested in the advancement of women’s leadership, now and in the future.
About us
Lincoln Road Enterprises (LRE) is a transformative organization. We’re invested in creating a better world for everyone. We think that starts by recognizing, valuing, and (most of all) using the innate gifts women bring to leadership. Our vision is a future in which women are at the forefront of business, global supply chain, engineering and technology, infrastructure and design, and space and astrophysics. We think we can make that happen by supporting new talent, improving systems, and encouraging bold ideas. We think it must happen now because we can’t address all the issues humanity must if we ignore half of what humanity has to offer. Women matter. We’ve always had the capacities—the heart and intellect—to take on big challenges and ask tough questions. And, as daughters, sisters, mothers and partners, we’ve always cared deeply about making the world better. It’s who we are and what we do. And now, it’s time.

What an incredible night! Lincoln Road Enterprises was in attendance at the Adler Planetarium’s Celestial Bash this past weekend for an evening focused on imagination, celebration and philanthropy. Adler Planetarium CEO Michelle B. Larson shared, “Our mission is to connect people to the universe, and to each other.” With our focus on the advancement of women’s leadership in space and astrophysics, we appreciate the remarkable contributions the Adler has made over its 94-year history to connect people of all ages to what’s beyond our skies. The Adler hosts more than half a million visitors each year and reaches millions more through programs including youth science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) events, neighborhood sky watching, online science, and more. As new discoveries and breakthroughs evolve at an ever-increasing pace, the museum will continue to play an important role in the future. A special thanks to Michelle Larson for her leadership, and to the entire Adler team for making the awe and wonder of space accessible to everyone! Last Friday, the Chicago Sky WNBA recognized our founder, Ann Drake, for changing the game for women and girls through her commitment to advancing women’s leadership. They honored Ann as a changemaker dedicated to raising the score. Prior to the game, Ann participated in a Celebrate HER panel with leaders from BMO, United Airlines, Girls in the Game, WISE, and the Chicago Sky’s own Elizabeth Williams. Though we would have loved to celebrate with a win, it was an exciting game! Notably, Angel Reese had her 23rd double-double to break the WNBA record for first-year players. The Sky rolled out the pink carpet on Barbie Night, a theme to inspire the limitless potential in women and girls. Thank you, Chicago Sky for a wonderful celebration and recognition!

Lincoln Road Enterprises was delighted to host a dynamic group of Drake Scholars for a weekend of learning, networking and advancing women’s leadership. The group discussed career advancement and success strategies, enjoyed a river tour of Chicago’s famous architecture, and cheered on the Chicago Sky at a home game following a panel about investing in women in sports and beyond. These ladies brought enthusiasm, authenticity and creative thinking to each moment. We could not have been more impressed! A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and to our founder, Ann Drake, for making it possible.
This past weekend, AWESOME and Lincoln Road Enterprises hosted the 2024 Drake Scholar Retreat, bringing together exceptional scholars from a variety of universities and backgrounds for a transformative experience filled with powerful learnings and inspiration. In addition to dynamic peer speakers and sessions with women business leaders, attendees also had the opportunity to watch a Chicago Sky WNBA game and hear a compelling panel discussion on investing in women in sports and beyond, featuring Tania Haladner, Anne Sempowski Ward, and Tina Tchen, moderated by AWESOME's CEO, Michelle Dilley. It was uplifting to see the connections formed by these remarkable women, who are capable of world-changing achievements. This event was just part one of two scholar retreats—the next one will be held in late September in Delavan, Wisconsin, very near to the future home of the Women's Leadership Center at Williams Bay (womensleadershipcenter.org). C’est si bon! Women ROCKED IT at the 2024 Olympics in Paris this month. For the first time in Olympic history, equal numbers of men and women athletes competed. And we shone in so many fields, from gymnastics to track & field to swimming to fencing, wrestling, basketball — and more. In fact, American women did so well in this Olympics that, if they were their own nation, they would have taken third place behind China and the U.S. Crushed it!
