Lions of District 404B2 organized service activities around the global causes of Lions International with focus on Diabetes, Youth Empowerment, Environment, Vision, Hunger and Childhood Cancer awareness in the Agege Local Government Area in Lagos State. The medical mission on Day 2 witnessed over 500 participants from the Agege and ogba axis to be screened for diabetes as well as undergo blood sugar tests. Present at the activity were royal fathers and chiefs in the community who appreciated the effort of the District in providing health care to help the people of the community. 1 in 4 children have vision problems that require diagnosis and treatment. Unfortunately, many of these children do not receive the care they need. This can significantly impact their ability to learn and thrive in school as they may struggle with reading, have difficulty concentrating in class and ultimately lose confidence in their abilities. At Johnson & Johnson | Vision we are determined to change that. This week, our colleagues were honored to host a Sight For Kids Spooktacular event in Jacksonville, Florida in collaboration with the Jaguars Foundation, Lions Clubs International, Vision Is Priceless and local organizations. Together, we provided more than 500 children from Boys & Girls Clubs of America with eye exams - to support a brighter, healthier future. The event was filled with fun Halloween-themed activities and an unforgettable experience for local children. They had the chance to meet a few of the Jags’ football players – and the biggest hit of all, the mascot - Jaxon de Ville! I’m also grateful for our employee volunteers who had the chance to be part of this event in our own backyard. Thanks to everyone who joined us and made an impact on the next generation of innovators, creators, scientists, and community leaders.
