Today is #WorldDiabetesDay! In Minnesota, USA, Camp Sweet Life is a five-day, four-night type 1 diabetes camp for youth. The goal of the accredited medical diabetes camp is to transform the lives of children living with type 1 diabetes and their families by providing fun opportunities for learning and connecting. In 2019, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) awarded Lions a Diabetes Grant for US$37,500 to enhance Camp Sweet Life. The LCIF grant funded medical supplies, counselor training and programmatic expenses. Full story: https://bit.ly/4fslmAE #LionsFightDiabetes

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗘 🥂🎉❤️ Exactly one year today, I got inducted and officially became a member of the Legon Leo Club, Lions Clubs International. Our club focuses on making a difference in various areas, including: - Hunger relief - Disaster Relief - Childhood cancer - Humanitarian initiatives - Environmental initiatives - Diabetes - And many more Through my volunteering journey, I've had the privilege of attending numerous activities, each one leaving a lasting impact on my heart. This experience has not only allowed me to give back to my community but also equipped me with invaluable skills such as: - Community engagement - Teamwork - Empathy building - Leadership As students in the Legon Leo Club, my fellow volunteers and I have demonstrated that even in our busiest moments, we can still make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable. This experience has taught us that when life presents us with bigger opportunities, we'll be ready to do even more! I'm grateful for the platform Legon Leo Club has provided me to grow, learn, and serve. A special thanks to Edward Amuzu for introducing me to the club. Here's to many more months of making a positive impact! P.S. Would you want to join the Lions Clubs International to give back to your community? John is a disabled veteran who suffered from PTSD. Through Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD) and ECAD Lions Club Branch, he was paired with Archer, a service dog trained to help him through difficult times and live a happier, healthier life. "I was basically a recluse. But now that I've got this dog, I'm not afraid anymore." 🦁🐶💚 #LionsForMentalHealth https://bit.ly/48IkdlW

Lions of District 404B2 organized service activities around the global causes of Lions International with focus on Diabetes, Youth Empowerment, Environment, Vision, Hunger and Childhood Cancer awareness in the Agege Local Government Area in Lagos State. The medical mission on Day 2 witnessed over 500 participants from the Agege and ogba axis to be screened for diabetes as well as undergo blood sugar tests. Present at the activity were royal fathers and chiefs in the community who appreciated the effort of the District in providing health care to help the people of the community. Volunteering with the mobile clinic by the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation was an incredibly rewarding experience! I volunteered through my club, the Dallas Founder Lions Club, alongside the Collin Athena Alliance Club and the Sister 2 Sister student group at Dallas College El Centro Campus. Together, we hosted the clinic to bring vital eye care—like vision screenings and glasses—directly to students and others in need. During my shift, I used an Optical Digital Pupilometer to measure pupils before students saw the eye doctor, while other volunteers operated the Spot Vision Screener to detect vision issues quickly. It was a great opportunity to help those in need access critical eye care that they might not otherwise receive. The Dallas Founder Lions Club has a rich history dating back to 1916, serving the Dallas community for over a century through a variety of service projects, particularly focused on vision care and supporting those in need. Proud to be part of the Lions Clubs International global mission to improve lives through sight and other impactful causes! #lionsinternational #communityservice #philanthropy
