Executive Thought for the Month from Libby Ekre As we prepare to move into the month of April, we have the power to shape the month ahead, setting the tone for how we experience it. Challenges will come; that’s a given, but where we focus our energy determines the story, we tell ourselves. When we dwell on the things that don’t truly matter, our perspective narrows, and negativity takes center stage. It’s easy to spiral into frustration, replaying worst-case scenarios and letting small irritations loom large.  We’ve all been there...a tense exchange with a loved one, an exasperating customer service call, an unexpected setback like bad weather or a dead car battery. Too often, the good moments slip by unnoticed while the difficult ones demand our full attention.  This past weekend, I hiked a mountain trail. As I moved about the mountain, taking in the vast landscape, my mind drifted to a recent conversation that had been weighing on me. But from that higher vantage point, something shifted. I saw the situation differently, something I couldn’t from ground level. I asked myself, what if I looked at this from their point of view?  How often do we approach interactions with a fixed mindset, running our own internal script on repeat? What if, instead, we pressed pause and made room for another perspective?  In every situation, we have a choice: to assume good intentions, to stay open, to ask more questions instead of rushing to defend our position. A simple shift in mindset can turn a tense moment into an opportunity for understanding, and ultimately, a better outcome.  So, as you start the month ahead... stop, think and, take a breath before reacting. The quality of your life is directly linked to the quality of your thoughts. Choose ones that serve you well, because you deserve nothing but the best.  #livebryten #changeyourperspective #focus
