It was incredibly nice to see Senator Rick Scott walk around the Sarasota Emergency Operations Center with words of encouragement for everyone. We're in this together. Heather Hackett

Thank you Chief Sandra Tapfumaneyi, MA, FPEM, CPM of Sarasota County Government Emergency Management for taking a few moments with me today to provide an update for Sarasota County residents and Hurricane Helene.
-
I just shared this on my email blast, but would like to share it here as well. If you are anywhere near hurricane Helene’s path, please know she’s already a CAT 4 hurricane with storm surge up to 20 feet. Please be safe and do all you can to protect yourself and your family. Love and prayers to the first responders, emergency managers, linemen, and our nonprofit, volunteers, and organizations working to keep us safe. ❤️ #hurricane #helene #emergencymanagement

She’s moving further east and The Weather Channel and FOX Weather were both talking about the two words we hate to hear, “rapid intensification”. Again, please pay attention. Download the Local Relief, Inc. App and share information with your community. #helene #hurricane #florida #alabama #georgia #atlanta #emergencymanagement

HUGE Thank you to FISH OF SANCAP for an incredible meeting yesterday! If you've had the pleasure of working with Maria Espinoza and Manuela Martinez, you know their unparalleled work ethic. I also had the pleasure of meeting Emery Lowden who seems to have the same passion and drive for helping others as well. Truly an incredible team. So...I won't go into details yet...but we're doing something really cool together for the Local Relief, Inc. app! On a positive note, this meeting was in Sanibel Island. Two years post-Ian, they have done a TREMENDOUS amount of work, please go show some local love and support this cute little island.

A huge thank you to Deputy Dennis Schmitz and Director of Emergency Management, John Blanchard IV of the Baker County Sheriff's Office for inviting our Founder, Heather Hackett to speak about our new Local Relief app at your Volunteer Conference yesterday. It was truly a remarkable event filled with engaging questions on how Local Relief, Inc. can assist locals through disaster. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to working together.

Please be sure to pay attention and as W. Nim Kidd recommends, remain “weather aware”.
TDEM has deployed additional state emergency response resources amid ongoing rainfall and flash flooding. "Texans are urged to stay weather aware and follow instructions of local first responders and emergency management personnel,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. #txwx
