We are proud to announce that our Texas CEI team has received the 2024 Texas Department of Transportation/Texas Asphalt Pavement Association Quality Asphalt Pavement Award in the Dense-Graded Mixes Overlay Category for their work on the IH 14 project in Coryell County for the TxDOT Waco District. Despite significant pavement repairs being anticipated, a thorough inspection determined that only a fraction of the repairs were necessary, resulting in substantial cost savings for the client, all while delivering an award-winning project. This is the first time a TxAPA award has been presented to a Consultant CEI, and we are honored to be the first. Congratulations to our team on this remarkable achievement! #LochnerLeads #ProjectAward #CEI https://bit.ly/4gY8uDE

Lochner’s Kentucky team recently partnered with Lexington Parks and Recreation to paint the Kentucky Traditional Post & Rail fencing around a 210-year-old cemetery located within Wellington Dog Park. This historic site, with graves dating back to the early 1800s, is a centerpiece of the seven-acre park. Lexington Parks and Recreation relies on volunteers to help maintain its public spaces, and our team was proud to contribute through this meaningful project. #LochnerCares #CommunityImpact https://bit.ly/3zzPuKD

Lochner recently attended and presented at the 2024 ACEC-KY/FHWA/KYTC Partnering Conference in Lexington, Kentucky, which brought together industry professionals and leaders from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), ACEC-Kentucky, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Lochner’s Tony Miller, CSE, PWS, alongside KYTC’s Andrew Logsdon, delivered a presentation on Lochner’s leadership of a wildlife crossing pilot study for KYTC. The study, focused on US 60 and I-64 between Frankfort and Louisville, is designed to mitigate wildlife-vehicle collisions. The presentation covered project funding, the critical need for this initiative, and the innovative approaches being implemented. Lochner’s team is gathering data on wildlife movement, identifying crash hotspots, and leveraging advanced technologies such as thermal imaging and multivariate modeling to reveal hidden patterns in wildlife behavior. This pilot study serves as a crucial first step toward a potential statewide program aimed at reducing wildlife-vehicle collisions across Kentucky. #LochnerLeads #WildlifeStudy #Environmental #ACEC #FHWA #KYTC https://bit.ly/3MVDgiv

In support of Lochner’s ongoing CEI Services contract with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) for the Reconstruction of Bridge Group 51B: Route 37 C-3 in Cranston, RI, Lochner’s Connecticut CEI staff recently provided field inspection and oversight using accelerated construction methods for the replacement of Bridge 083151, which carries approximately 15,000 vehicles daily. During a weekend closure, Ramp W-N and Cranston Street were closed with temporary detours in place. The existing bridge was demolished, and the new superstructure was moved from temporary supports in a nearby staging yard onto new GRS-IBS abutments using Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs). Once in position, the bridge was backfilled, paved, and reopened to traffic ahead of schedule. Congratulations to all involved on achieving this important project milestone! #SPMTs #LochnerLeads #Bridges https://bit.ly/3MNUzSu

We are thrilled to announce that Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)’s I-405 Improvement Project has been honored with a 2024 Best Projects Award in the Highway/Bridge category by Engineering News-Record (ENR) California, one of the top accolades in commercial construction. Lochner's Tallahassee office volunteered at Second Harvest of the Big Bend, packing 600 food boxes for distribution in nearby counties. As the region's primary source for charitable food, Second Harvest serves a 16-county area, acting as a storage and distribution hub for over 149 frontline agency partners. Our team assembled, packed, and prepared boxes to support the mission of feeding the hungry and engaging the community in the fight against hunger. This marks the team's third year volunteering, and we're proud of the immediate impact on the local community, especially with hurricane season approaching. Thank you to our team for supporting this important work! #LochnerCares #GivingBack https://bit.ly/3XBW1h0
