I just helped a company hire someone who didn’t even know they were looking for a job. The candidate had been in the same role for over 25 years. No LinkedIn profile, no recent job search activity—just quietly doing his thing in a tight-knit industry. I called him out of the blue to discuss an opportunity. His response? “I wasn’t really thinking about changing jobs, but sure, let’s talk.” Within a week, I had him in front of the decision-makers. No formal interview prep, no lengthy back-and-forth. The company already knew of his work. “Let’s make him an offer.” No polished resume. No job boards. No drawn-out interview process. Just a conversation between professionals. The candidate never actively sought out the job, but he was the perfect fit. Sometimes, the best talent isn’t out there applying—they’re just waiting for the right opportunity to find them. This is where a good recruitment partner steps in.

We recently had a candidate decline an offer, and the client shared this: "Joe, we appreciate your help, but it feels like a waste of time if candidates turn us down after interviews... Can’t you make sure they’re fully committed to joining us before we invest our time? How do you handle this?" My response: "You can't guarantee it. When we’re dealing with highly qualified professionals for your hardest-to-fill roles—people in the top tier of their field, with rare, specialized skills—if they show interest, already know the compensation range, and still choose to interview, that’s a signal you should seize. It’s worth your time to interview these candidates, no matter the outcome. Some may realize it’s not the right fit, others might choose to stay where they are, but a number of them will join your team. Your job is to sell them on the role, make a compelling offer, and then trust the process. But there’s no way I can guarantee they’ll say yes before they meet you.” Wouldn’t you agree?

Let us help save you time and money, oh..let’s not forget about helping grow your business too!
Some people think recruitment fees are too high, but I see them as a smart investment. Here’s why: Imagine a company needs to fill a key role but struggles to find the right candidate for 3 months. I come in and agree to recruit for 20% of the first-year salary. Within 2 weeks, I’ve found a top candidate, and after a 2-week notice period, they’re ready to start. By the time the new hire begins, 4 months have passed, meaning the company has saved nearly a third of that role’s annual salary by not paying someone during the vacancy. 💡 So, when a client tells you your fee is too steep, remind them it’s more of an investment than an expense. The savings and value make it worth every penny.
