"The need is large," Loretto President and CEO Dr. Kimberly Townsend says of a growing demand for licensed practical nurses (LPNs). But our cutting-edge LPN Apprenticeship Program has allowed Loretto to stay one step ahead of a nationwide healthcare recruiting issue, while paving the way for others to advance their careers and change their lives. With the first federally recognized LPN Apprenticeship Program, our staff can pursue a higher level of nursing education through Onondaga Cortland Madison BOCES, all while still receiving a salary and being paid for training. Upon completion of the program, they're guaranteed a position in their new career here at Loretto. Syracuse Media Group tells more about how this trailblazing program at Loretto has made an impact in the lives of its employees and has set a standard in the industry. This week's employee spotlight is Adam King. Adam has been with Loretto as a compliance auditor for nearly two years. A typical day for Adam is spent making sure Loretto's policies and procedures are up to date and making sure employees have the information they need so we can continue to create a great environment of compliance. Adam says he loves the detail that goes into his work. Though there are a lot of complex regulations we need to keep up with, Adam enjoys being able to make this information accessible to employees in a way that they'll understand. Adam also says the level of trust from leadership at Loretto and the investment they have for their employees inspires him and helps him approach his job with confidence. Recently, Adam won the 40 Under Forty award from Central New York Business Journal , an award that recognizes people under the age of 40 who have excelled in their workplace and community. Adam says winning the award has made him realize that what he is doing is making a difference and making an impact, which he says is part of his general life mission. Adam also recently completed two marathons, several half marathons and his first full Olympic distance triathlon. Adam says he enjoys movement and continually discovering what he is capable of. Congratulations on your 40 Under Forty award, Adam! #EmployeeSpotlight #40UnderForty
