Transforming education for the community, with the community, from diapers to diplomas.
About us
Founded in 1984, LAEP is a nonprofit organization that advances educational equity. Together with families, schools and the community, LAEP facilitates access to and opportunities for quality educational and wellness practices so that children thrive from diapers to diplomas. LAEP focuses on two areas that consistently demonstrate positive impact on student achievement: • Transforming schools to expand the capacity of educators, students, and community to share responsibility for producing college and career ready graduates and sustainable change. • Reaching children in early childhood to promote their healthy development and build parents’ capacity to prepare their children for success in school. We believe six core elements must be present for schools to be successful: -High-Quality Instruction -Teacher Leadership & Collaboration -College and Career Readiness -Parents as Partners -Youth Empowerment -Educational Equity

Despite the challenges facing education today, Los Angeles Education Partnership (LAEP) remains committed to fostering leadership and collaboration. We are so proud to recognize our team for their successful completion of the Community Schools Fundamentals Professional Development with the Southern Inland Technical Assistance Center (SI-RTAC) of San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. LAEP was the first organization to bring community schools forward in Los Angeles. We are experts in implementing community schools in diverse K-12 settings, including 15 years of experience as a Full-Service Community School provider in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, South Los Angeles, and East Los Angeles. We weave together the experience and resources of staff, students, parents, local residence, in organizations, and help transform schools into community resource hub that address, systemic and equities and liberatory practices. #PartnerwithLAEP and learn more at LAEP.org. #communityschools #LAEP #losangeleseducation #educationequity

Simply put: we love our partners! As Leslie Priscilla put it, “Empowerment through Education,” is key for success. Leslie, thank you so much for sharing about Los Angeles Education Partnership.
I asked ChatGPT to "Tell me about the work of Leslie Priscilla of Latinx Parenting" and it was pretty accurate! "Leslie Priscilla, the founder of Latinx Parenting, has dedicated her work to supporting Latinx families through various initiatives that emphasize cultural relevance and community engagement. Here are some key aspects of her work: Culturally Relevant Resources: Leslie focuses on providing resources that resonate with the experiences of Latinx families. This includes parenting guides, articles, and tools that reflect their unique cultural backgrounds. Workshops and Events: Latinx Parenting organizes workshops and community events that bring families together. These events often cover a range of topics, including child development, education, mental health, and navigating cultural identity. Online Community: Leslie has built an online platform where Latinx parents can connect, share experiences, and support one another. This community fosters a sense of belonging and provides a space for discussing common challenges and solutions. Advocacy and Awareness: Through her work, Leslie advocates for the needs and challenges faced by Latinx families. She highlights issues such as access to education, healthcare, and mental health resources, aiming to raise awareness and promote change. Empowerment Through Education: Leslie emphasizes the importance of education in empowering Latinx parents. By providing access to information and resources, she helps parents feel more confident in their parenting abilities and decision-making. Overall, Leslie Priscilla’s work with Latinx Parenting is centered on strengthening families, promoting cultural pride, and creating a supportive community for Latinx parents." 📸 : Presenting for staff during our 3rd year of partnership with Los Angeles Education Partnership earlier this year! These are all direct service providers who work with Latine families. ❤️
