🚀 Our teams are spending a lot of time thinking about Enterprise AI Adoption, and its clear that its surging. Yet there's a clear gap from experimentation to implementation, full roll-outs and yielding the business reward. A recent study reveals some key insights: • Only about a third of AI investment is spent on tech itself. • The majority of investment goes towards Consulting services, training and upskilling existing workforce, and onboarding new employees... But Why? "The technology itself is more or less a commodity. meaning, you know, my ChatGPT is as good as your ChatGPT and so the differentiation is largely going to come from the integration of the technology and business processes. There's no template, there's no blueprint, people will have to experiment and learn." As Stefano Puntoni, Professor of Marketing at Rotterdam School of Management, notes in the article in the comments. This shift highlights the importance of focusing on people and processes, not just the technology itself. I'll admit it - I've fallen into the DIY search trap myself. 🙋♂️ I thought building it from scratch would give me ultimate control and flexibility. But here's what I learned: ❌DIY can be a HUGE time suck. I spent countless hours tinkering with tools like Elasticsearch, trying to get it just right. ❌It's hard to keep up. Customer expectations are constantly evolving, and DIY solutions require much more effort to bring incremental innovation to production. ❌You can end up with a Frankensteinian mess. It's easy to lose sight of the big picture when you're bogged down in technical debt and maintenance. These days, I'm all about finding the right balance between customization and ease of use.
