The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization, has released a new report titled “The Battle Ahead: Latino Civil Rights vs. Project 2025.” The report details ten critical ways Project 2025 threatens Latino civil rights, including mass deportations, cuts to legal immigration, and dismantling essential federal protections. LULAC highlights that these proposed changes could severely impact Latino communities and democracy itself, increasing discrimination and family separations. Last night, LULAC hosted its Presidential Awards Banquet at the 2024 National Convention. This black-tie event featured Latino leaders from throughout the U.S. and honored individuals who have given outstanding service to the Latino community throughout the year.
