"October 7th changed my perception of human evil." For ADL's Carole Nuriel, Hamas' 10/7 attack on Israel - exactly one year ago - led her "to understand how members of a society indoctrinated to hate others can resort to inhumane barbarism." Read more: https://lnkd.in/e9D83hAS

366 days. 52 weeks. 12 months. ONE YEAR. That's how long it’s been since Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to slaughter, rape, mutilate and kidnap men, women, children and the elderly, including Holocaust survivors and people of all different religions and nationalities. #NeverForget #BringThemHome

🎗️ On October 7, for the first time we will come together to remember those we lost this past year, and to reflect on the ongoing challenges we face in our fight against hate. Join us for an impactful Instagram Live featuring ADL CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt, and a special co-host, former chief White House correspondent for CNN, and an award-winning political journalist reporting for CNN, ABC News and MSNBC, Jessica Yellin. We’ll dive deep into the rise of antisemitism over the past year, exploring its effects on Jewish communities and society at large. In this conversation, we’ll discuss: - The significance of the date and its impact on our communities. - The alarming rise in antisemitic incidents since last year. - How antisemitism intersects with other forms of hate, underscoring the importance of solidarity. - Concrete steps that individuals can take to stand against hate in all its forms. Your voice matters in this dialogue, and together, we can work toward a more inclusive future. We hope to see you on October 7 at 4:30-5 PM EST! 🚨 10,000+ antisemitic incidents were recorded by ADL since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel. This is the highest number of incidents ever recorded in any single year period since ADL started tracking in 1979 – a 200%+ increase compared to incidents reported to us during the same period a year before. According to the ADL Center on Extremism these 10,000+ antisemitic incidents include 150+ incidents of physical assault, 8,015+ cases of verbal or written harassment and 1,840+ acts of vandalism. Jewish Americans are feeling unsettled and insecure in their own communities. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ebUUBqNU

Last week, we met with dozens of heads of state and foreign ministers on the sidelines of #UNGA79 to raise crucial issues of concern for global Jewry and beyond. First, we focused on rising antisemitism in the post-Oct 7 world and urged countries to adopt and implement the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism. Second, we asked each country to hold the Iranian regime and its terror proxies accountable for the terror it inflicts against Israel, throughout the region and across the globe. This has only become more urgent in light of the Iranian regime’s direct attack with hundreds of ballistic missiles against Israel yesterday. And third, we asked all leaders we met with to pressure the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities, including ensuring that Hamas releases all the remaining hostages, holding UNRWA responsible for supporting – directly or indirectly – the atrocities of 10/7, addressing Hamas’ use of rape and sexual violence as a weapon of war, and ensuring UNIFIL to fulfill its mandate in the north.
