Strain measurements with #fiber illuminate fracture geometry within horizontal and vertical boreholes. #DAS is a super sensitive strain meter and I’m glad to see that data from our instruments is making it to the cover of this book. Can’t wait to read it. Using DAS systems, optimized to distinguish each of the fractures and their horizontal/vertical growth, we now can understand how to optimize #geothermal or #unconvenional resources. I’m having a proud moment because our team executed flawlessly this #HFTS2 project. Many years and many scientific papers later this project continues to deliver great science and more importantly, knowledge for generating more energy resources that we all consume on a daily basis. Thanks to the authors and good friends for preparing this book. I’m always learning from your work. And some recognition to the team that made that project happen: Xinyang (Angela) Li, Ph.D., Yassine Oukaci, Lisa M. LaFlame, Marcel Grubert, PhD, Dipl. I am thrilled to announce the release of our latest book, " Hydraulic fracture geometry characterization based on distributed fiber optic strain measurements", published by Elsevier. This book provides a comprehensive overview of using fiber strain measurements to understand fracture propagation and geometry, summarizing cutting-edge research in this rapidly evolving field. Key Highlights Include: 1) Overview of the latest advancements in 12 diagnostic techniques 2) Introduction to the principles of distributed fiber optic strain measurements 3) Detailed geomechanics modeling of strain responses, featuring case studies from both horizontal and vertical monitoring wells 4) Comprehensive workflow and case examples for interpreting strain data specifically in the Eagle Ford and Permian basins 5) Discussion on the significant insights and value obtained from analyzing field-measured strain datasets Thank you to all co-authors (Yongzan Liu, Ge Jin, Aishwarya Srinivasan).
