🍻 Prost to Oktoberfest & thriving together! 🎉 At Lytx, we know that collaboration fuels success. Last week, our global teams gathered at our San Diego, Calif., HQ to share innovative ideas, strengthen connections, and strategize for 2025. But the fun didn’t end there! We celebrated Oktoberfest with German beers, fresh pretzels, and currywurst. A highlight of the festivities? Our epic stein hoisting contest! 🏆 A huge shoutout to our champion, Karl, for showcasing his unbeatable strength.

Safety and efficiency are two sides of the same coin. Let’s talk about it. Delays cost money, and collisions can have devastating consequences. That’s why I’ve been so impressed with Lytx’s video telematics solutions, especially in the construction industry. Clients aren’t just tracking GPS—they’re leveraging video and data to get a complete picture of what’s happening on the road and at the job site. A safer fleet is a more efficient fleet. A safer work environment drives better performance, reduces costs, and boosts efficiency. If you’re in construction, I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments! #Lytx #FleetManagement #SafetyFirst

I've learned a lot since starting at Lytx (Jonathan Wood, I promise!). Including the 2-second rule. Driving in morning rush hour today, I was making a critical error: Not giving the vehicles in front of me enough room. One tanker truck and four cars screeched to a stop and smoked their tires. I narrowly avoided them. The car behind me had to bail onto the shoulder. Depending on where you get your information, between 5-29% of accidents are attributed to following too closely behind other vehicles. Tailgating is generally illegal in all states, and may fall under aggressive driving laws! (i.e. Big fines.) In Lytx, Inc. training modules for fleet drivers, we teach the 2-second rule: There should be at least two seconds between me and the car I'm following to give me enough time to safely read and react to an event. When I see the car pass a sign, shadow, or spot on the road, I know I should count "Start... 1... 2" before I pass that same point. Less than 2 seconds, I need to back off. And if there's less than one second, it can easily be a critical mistake. 💥 The AARP actually recommends THREE seconds. Standard tractor-trailers are heavy and need even more distance to stop, so don't cut them off in FRONT of them, either. During rain and bad weather, be sure to double your spacing. (Hello, Hurricane Helene.) Make this #FollowingDistanceFriday, and see how you do on the drive home. And please don't tell my boss I just gave you free training. #ArriveAlive #driversafety
