Welcome our new board member, Doug Anderson. Doug launched Anderson Pro Painting, INC. in 2005 while studying at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. His dedication to #community service started with a transformative experience at City Year, part of AmeriCorps, in inner-city Philadelphia. Before founding his business, he served on the board of Habitat for Humanity in #Harrisburg, even taking on the role of President during his final year. "Life is richer when we lift each other up," says Doug. "I believe in the power of community and am passionate about engaging with local initiatives and giving back. It's not just about the work we do, but the connections we make and the support we offer one another that truly matters." Doug is passionate about connecting to his community and believes in the power of positive, mutually beneficial relationships. He knows that when people feel valued, they care for one another, creating a vibrant work culture where everyone thrives. For him, Anderson Pro Painting isn't just a business; it's a way to spread joy in the homes and businesses of South Central PA. Celebrating a Year of #Hope with M28 Ministry U.S.--As we celebrate the impactful year we have had, we want to extend our gratitude to you and share some of the influence we have achieved together through our House2Home (H2H) Project and Discipleship, Coaching, and Mentoring Programs. We are thankful to be able to reflect on another great year of serving the #community. These successes are ours, together — and we thank you for continuing the mission of M28 to help those in need find redemption, healing, and hope. Here's a look at our work through our #House2Home (H2H) Project: 🎉We picked up furniture from 140 donors; we gave furniture to 200 families, representing over 645 people. This year, we gave away more than $275,000 worth of home goods and furniture. 🎉Over the past 8 years, we have assisted 1,480 families and given away $1.4 million in support. 🎉In 2024, we distributed over 115 beds, 70 dressers, 45 couches, 150 pillows, 100 blankets, 100 sets of dishes, 110sets of sheets, 38 televisions, 36 kitchen tables, and many other items. 🎉We provided furniture and home goods to refugees resettling in our area. These families came from Afghanistan, Egypt, Ukraine, Congo, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, and other regions. Here's a look at our work through our Discipleship, Coaching, and Mentoring Programs: 🎉We have worked with 76 individuals this year. 🎉We are proud to share that 61% of those participants stayed clean for 1 year or more, while another 15% have maintained sobriety for 6 months or more. As we turn the page on 2024 and look forward to 2025, we are excited about the continued journey ahead. Together, we can build on this momentum and reach even more people in our community. We are grateful for your continued support as we dream big and expand our efforts to help #families and those in #recovery in 2025. SEASON OF GIVING: A LETTER OF REFLECTION FROM OUR DIRECTOR -- As 2024 draws to a close, we are looking back with gratitude and celebrating the incredible milestones M28 Ministry U.S. has achieved. We have impacted many lives together, yet we still have much work to do. Celebrating our clients’ milestones offers a chance for us all to share the joy of what we’ve accomplished. David’s Story: Living Life ‘with God at the Forefront’—Let me tell you the story of David Davenport, a powerful testament to the life-changing work happening at M28 Ministry. After struggling with addiction for years, David found hope and healing with us, giving him the support he needed to embrace recovery. I wanted to highlight this profound quote from David: “One of the best things I like about M28 is that step by step, day by day, I can really live my life on terms with God at the forefront. I do not have to look a certain way or present myself as something that I am not. I can have flaws. I can be scared and can still do things that are pleasing to God.” READ DAVID'S FULL STORY: https://lnkd.in/eAXWrPmg Looking Toward 2025: We Are So Thankful for Your Kindness—Your ongoing support has been essential to our mission, allowing us to bring hope and love to people like David. This year, consider becoming a recurring donor. Your consistent contributions provide a reliable funding source so we can plan effectively for the future. In 2025, we are looking for your support with two projects. We plan to open Esther's House, our affordable housing initiative for those in recovery. It gives clients a good, safe, affordable home while getting back on their feet. For this to succeed, we need your assistance to make repairs to the housing unit. We give away good used furniture and home goods to those in need through our House2Home (H2H) project. Your good-condition donations provide families from all over Central PA with the essentials they need. To date, our H2H Warehouse has assisted 1,480 families and received item donations worth $1.4 million. With your help, we hope to grow those numbers further in 2025—BOOK YOUR FURNITURE DONATION APPOINTMENT TODAY: https://lnkd.in/gDKNE6HM Your support also plays a vital role in funding our other programs: LIFE COACHING: Walking beside people to help them move toward wholeness. https://lnkd.in/eFsjADVd SUNDAY HOUSE GATHERING: Offering support and spiritual community. https://lnkd.in/egkV4K9n FUN NIGHTS: A time to connect, laugh, and enjoy fun without substances. https://lnkd.in/eRxcRwff Join Us in Our Mission! Discover the inspiring story behind his comeback and the lessons he’s learned along the way. Read more about David's experience at https://lnkd.in/dPfhGqT9. “I firmly believe that I am only here as a result of prayer,” said David Johnson. “During the meeting with Pastor Jim Schambach, one of the first things he said was: ‘This only works if you’re honest with me.’ Honesty is a theme throughout my recovery journey. It’s also identified as a spiritual principle in twelve-step programs, which I did not understand back then. But Pastor Jim said, as long as I am willing to be honest, he is willing to work with me.” #RecoveryJourney #Inspiration #M28 #Video #VideoMarketing #VideoCampaign #LifeChanged #LivesChanged #FaithJourney #OvercomingObstacles #HopeAndHealing #SubstanceUseDisorder #Sobriety #Poverty #Hope #Ministry #M28Ministry #DoingGood #HarrisburgPA

Every Sunday, Pastor Jim & Brenda Schambach warmly open their home to individuals on their journey to #recovery. These Sunday House Gatherings provide a welcoming environment where everyone can engage in conversations on spirituality and matters of faith. After each Gathering, we share a meal together as well! Over the past two years, these weekly gatherings have flourished, growing from a small group of dedicated individuals to a thriving community of over 60 attendees. The sense of camaraderie and mutual support that has developed within this group is truly inspiring, as people come together to uplift and encourage one another on their paths to recovery.
