This is why our association with Barry's is more than just another financial transaction. Macrolease believes and supports Barry's broader mission. What we both do is much more important than what shows up on a balance sheet. Helping people led healthier, more productive and fuller lives is what drives us both. Keep fighting the good fight.

Starting this month Barry's will be hosting classes in support of the national nonprofit organization Shatterproof and its mission to transform the addiction treatment system to reverse the addiction crisis. Shatterproof's continued work helps reshape addiction treatment, end addiction stigma, and educate communities on addiction. Organizations like this are close to our hearts, as our founder Barry Jay openly struggled with addiction until he found his escape - and eventually his sobriety - in fitness and Barry's. As part of the partnership, we are also encouraging clients to participate in a Shatterproof Walk or Run, some of which will include a stretch led beforehand by our instructors. Check your local studio schedule to find out when we are hosting classes in support of Shatterproof here: https://bit.ly/4edyCIh

Sadly, a friend to many and an icon in the Fitness Equipment Finance Industry has passed away. Dan West is remembered for many things, including his humanity, intelligence, consistency and friendship. He was respected by all who worked with him, as partners, clients or vendors. Dan was always able to find solutions and convey them with clarity and elegance. He set the bar in developing long-term mutually rewarding relationships. Dan started Macrolease as an independent leasing company in 1969. He steered the company through many economic cycles and always did so with grace, honoring every obligation with vendors, borrowers and banks alike. In 2005, Macrolease was acquired by Bank Rhode Island. Dan continued to manage the division until his retirement in 2019. Among other things, Dan will be remembered as a teacher who set a positive example of how to push forward every day, in good and bad times. He will be sorely missed by his many friends, colleagues, his amazing wife Candy, his children and grandchildren. His message and methods will continue to flourish and thrive via the many whom he influenced and mentored.

Six common financial mistakes that business owners make when they look to open or expand their fitness centers.... And how to avoid them. MISTAKE #1 - “This isn’t just a business, it’s a passion project” “This isn’t just a business, it’s a passion project”…..maybe but passion doesn’t pay the bills. Fitness is one of those markets where owners are not just investors, but individuals that are truly passionate about what they do. And why not – providing a state-of-the-art environment where clients can improve the quality of their life by engaging in a consistent fitness regimen is a noble endeavor. It is something to be passionate about. But passion doesn’t pay the bills. Regardless of how purposeful your fitness business is, you need a sound business plan to make sure that you remain solvent and able to reach as many clients as possible. That sound business plan should include access to enough capital to sustain the business and allow for all the amenities and equipment that discerning customers expect. It should also include working with a knowledgeable equipment finance partner, like Macrolease , that can share the benefit of their years of experience to help you put the best plan together to insure long term success. Yes, it is important to be passionate about your business but it is also important to be financially solid.
