As we emerge from the pandemic, the dialogue on flexible work pivots from the return to the office to a “new disruption”: the 32-hour workweek. While remote and hybrid work have reshaped job landscapes, a shift towards condensed work schedules is gaining relevance. LinkedIn research highlights a surge in job postings offering remote or hybrid roles, leading to an increase in job applicants. Yet, conversations about the 32-hour workweek are more present than ever. Initial trials reveal promising results: heightened productivity and enhanced well-being. Organizations leveraging a four-day workweek reported a 1.4% rise in revenue and a notable decrease in employee turnover and sick leave. However, making this shift demands a reevaluation of work practices. Successful adoption needs a strategic overhaul: 1-Define meaningful work: Align tasks with company goals.  2-Audit Meetings: Scrutinize unproductive meeting time.  3-Unlock Potential: Free employees from basic, unnecessary tasks hindering focus. Real success stories, like that of Centro Legal de la Raza, showcase a productivity surge, emphasizing the day off as earned through efficient work practices, as Maciel, Deputy Director, tells us during our latest Instagram Live (watch it here: https://lnkd.in/dFvdm5Bh ) This approach not only boosts productivity but also lowers stress levels. Nonetheless, the road to a 32-hour workweek needs the support and clarity from a strategic HR team during the cultural shift, meticulous planning, and continuous assessment. As we analyze the best management practices and talent acquisition in an evolving labor market, this innovative approach can be the edge organizations need to attract and retain top talent. Embracing the four-day workweek isn't just about time off—it's a paradigm shift towards a more efficient, focused, and empowered workforce. Thank you @maciel jacques Monique Berlanga and Martha Hernández, SHRM-SCP for bringing up this key conversation to the table. #32workweek #hybridwork #madebos

How is your leadership type affecting your team’s performance? There are many nuances in leadership types, and even though the Empathic Leader is often confused with the Cool Boss, the first one fosters a culture that goes beyond surface-level interactions, prioritizing genuine care, understanding, and support for their team's personal and professional growth. For the Empathetic Leader it is not about being everyone's best friend but rather having a deep understanding of what drives and motivates their team. The second one, Cool Boss, however, might focus on being well-liked and maintaining a positive vibe at work. Olga Valadon (Leadership Coach) sums it up concisely: "Empathic leadership isn’t just about being nice; it’s about understanding." By collaborating with HR, you can gain valuable insights, access resources for development, and create an environment that allows you to grow as a leader while aligning your style with the organization's objectives and values.   #LeadershipStyles #HRLeadership #CoolBoss #madeBOS #SHRM Source: Olga Valadon's article in Harvard Business Review.

In recent years, there has been an inspiring and remarkable surge in the growth of women-owned businesses. Women entrepreneurs are shattering glass ceilings, pursuing their passions, and making an impact across industries. According to the latest statistics, women-owned businesses in the United States are growing at a rate that is nothing short of extraordinary. However, it is important to recognize that their journeys vary for different groups of women, with some facing unique challenges and triumphs. According to a 2021 statistic, women-owned businesses in the United States have surged at twice the rate of their male counterparts with remarkable disparities between white women-owned businesses and Latina women-owned businesses: By 2021, there were 1.8 million Latina-owned businesses in the United States, showing an increase of 102% since 2007. During the same period, white women-owned businesses grew by 30%. At madeBOS, we are proud to be working with growing leaders, who are taking their companies to the next level. Such is the case for Gabriela Chavez López, who’s building her career as CEO of @LatinaCoalition “Making sure we’re taking care of our people, means we’re healthy and strong to go out there and serve our community” But the journey to success isn't without its obstacles. The support and guidance of human resources (HR) professionals can play a pivotal role in the journey of female CEOs. HR strategic partners can ensure that: ✔ Workplaces are diverse and inclusive, creating an environment where women entrepreneurs have an equal opportunity to excel. ✔ Provide valuable networking opportunities for women looking to grow their businesses. ✔ Design and measure results through HR policies that prioritize equal pay. We invite you to share your favorite women-owned business down in the comments. Let's celebrate and support the remarkable female entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of business.
