We're thrilled that Jen G. and the Magnolia Consulting team were recognized with the 2024 Outstanding ATE Evaluation of an ATE Project Award! This honor, presented by EvaluATE at the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s Advanced Technological Education (ATE) PI Conference, highlights the exceptional impact of Magnolia's evaluation work on advancing STEM education and workforce training. Magnolia's evaluation of the "Expanding Regional Capacity for Training in Engineering Technology and Data Center Operations" project provided Northern Virginia Community College with insights that improved program effectiveness, especially within the summer bridge programs. Huge thanks to NOVA IET for nominating us and to all who made this work possible, including Josh Labrie, Ti'Era Worsley, Natasha Schuh-Nuhfer, and Christopher Russell. Together, we're making strides toward stronger, more impactful STEM initiatives! 

We are thrilled to have recently co-facilitated a training alongside our colleagues Katrina Laguarda and Stephanie Suarez from SRI International, in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education’s Erin Chavez and Maggie Doyle. We’ve been fortunate to collaborate on this project for over 2.5 years, focusing on the Mathematics Achievement Fund's Coaching Conversation Observation Rubric. This recent session marks an important milestone as we now head into developing an online training series. Magnolia is deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership with REL Appalachia at SRI International and KDE. Looking forward to what’s next!

At both NASA Langley Research Center and NASA Wallops, students engaged in mission design and hands-on learning, showcasing the next generation of STEM leaders in action. 🚀Grateful for this partnership and the chance to witness such innovation! #STEMeducation #NASA

🚀 Just returned from an inspiring site visit to NASA Langley Research Center, where I observed my third year of the Virginia Space Grant Consortium VASTS (Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars) Summer Academy! The top-performing scholars from the online course are invited to attend this interactive online STEM learning experience, earning 5 college credits for free. During the visit, I witnessed these bright scholars deeply engaged in STEM as they designed a crewed mission to Mars, networked with NASA employees like astronaut Roger Crouch, and presented their mission to a panel of industry professionals. The level of dedication and innovation was truly remarkable. A special shoutout to the undergraduate interns, master teachers, and VSGC staff who make this all possible. It's an honor to see the next generation of STEM leaders in action and to observe a program that offers such valuable opportunities. #STEM #NASA #VASTS #MissionToMars

🌈 This Pride Month, Magnolia is thrilled to spotlight our collaboration with Purdue University and Trinity Haven on the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Project RADICAL (Reimagining the Affordances of Design Innovation to Catalyze Assets of LGBTQ+ Youth Experiencing Housing Insecurity). Project RADICAL is harnessing the power of technology and education to support LGBTQ+ youth in Indiana. Through a Design-Based Research approach, the project centers youth as collaborators in the design of curriculum content, educational technology, and their learning pathway in STEM. The first cohort of youth from Trinity Haven are completing the program this month, ready to implement their engineered solution—an automated moisture control system for kitchen gardens. Check out these images showcasing the students' journey from 2D sketches to 3D models and circuit testing. #PrideMonth #LGBTQYouth #STEMEducation #HousingInsecurity

Exciting times at Magnolia! Emily Evans recently visited Utah Tech University for our evaluation of its INSPIRE scholarship program funded by National Science Foundation (NSF). The INSPIRE program aims to establish interdisciplinary student cohorts and to promote problem solving, innovation, and entrepreneurship for students in STEM. It was inspiring to witness firsthand how students showcased their project work during the Trailblazers Symposium for Research, Innovation, and Creativity.
